I'm a boomer and even I think that's funny. But I thought Dooley was a doosh 30 years ago - self-indulgent, no talent putz then, as now.
You know, this post got me thinking, and I'm inclined to believe that it is much more apropos and pure genius than you intended it to be.
Let me explain:
We all know mullen has struggled in crootin kids out of high school. He has improved no doubt but still struggles to land the big fish that the top tier crooters are after. We always seem to finish a close 2nd or distant 3rd. Now, the issue behind our 2nd place luck has been discussed a little bit here and focuses on the narrative that mullen doesn't do the kiss ass, tell the kid everything they want to hear, make empty promises, and blow sunshine up their ass approach that guys like kirby are known for. The rub is he's pretty honest and frank with them, tells them the truth about their abilities, what UF has to offer from an athletic as well as academic standpoint, and let's them know how much they play and their level of success is largely based on them and how willing they are to put in the work. He tells them the truth in a nice but matter of fact way.
Contrast this to guys with the snake oil salesman approach like kirby who seem to hemorrhage top talent yearly with the consistent narrative being that they weren't told the truth, were jerked around, sold a bill of goods, etc. After having smoke blown up your butt, reading your own preseason press clippings coming out of HS, then not getting the attention and playing time you were led to believe would happen, along with a heavy dose of brutal reality from the same pricks that were blowing you 6 months prior, it stands to reason that if you then decide to look for a new spot, you probably want to go play for someone that is, and in many cases, was honest and frank with you about things. Enter Mullen.
His approach may not be the best to snag the top tier talent high schoolers desperate to have their egos stroked and all, but after a hefty dose of adult reality, his approach may be what a lot of the kids look back on and say, "man, i should have listened to that guy." Now with the portal there is the opportunity for a do over and some talented kids have taken advantage of it, to ours and Dan's favor.
I could be completely wrong, but it makes sense to me.
Go look at any full length picture you can find and tell me Robbie doesn’t look like he’s about to tip over and face plant into the ground.Tooley has a permanent fishmouth, and Robbie has no clue who tf he is or where tf he is.
Link that or eat shyt. All I said was taggart was going to be a problem. I was wrong. Just like all you guys said UF was gonna beat UGA, or 2bits thinking we're getting Tim Smith, etc. The info came from Spivey and it said as of right now.Funny how the first post you make after coming back is proven wrong almost immediately. Just like Mullen was never gonna beat WillllllllLLLLLiiiiee.
If things go the way I think they will and since there’s a made up rule where we only use rivals, but I use best of both, we’d have five stars in:
Trevon Grimes
Brenton Cox
Justin Shorter
Derek Wingo
Lorenzo Lingard
Gervon Dexter
All under Mullen.
That wouldn't do much imo. What would is Mullen kicking 80% of his offensive staff to the curb. It blows my mind how great he is at improving offense but how awful his friends have been at recruiting/coaching. He's gotta fix these personnel issues this year or his ceiling is 2nd place in the East and continual losses to UGA.I think you nailed it with this, Durty. I’d like to see Dan pair up these highly touted transfers with highly touted recruits on future official visits to the campus. Maybe these guys could give some real world perspective to future recruits and help us close them on signing days.
On paper. We don't know how he'll recover from injury. Does he have to sit a year? Hopefully not. With an adequate RB coach he's going to be a stud, with Knox he'll still be good imo. All depends on his injury recovery and if he's mentally past risking getting hurt.Lingard is the best back in a decade we’ve signed.
He is, and has always been, an absolute troll. If I had the time or desire to do so, I'd love to take a walk down memory lane in our coaching search thread back in 2017. I couldn't tell you how many times we were warned and mocked about not going after Taggart. Funny that he mentioned Conf-USA in an earlier post, which happens to be where his boy is currently at. He knows nothing, and simply looks for any excuse possible to bash UF.
You're right about taggart wrong about bashing UF. I really wish you guys would quit lying for daps it's pathetic. I do love to bash coaches and the idiots who praise them. Should I link all the posts from folks who thought Mac was a great coach? If so you might wanna grab a few refreshments. Mullen is doing exactly what I said he'd do:

If he can hire some recruiters(bagmen) he'll win big. If he keeps his friends on staff it's 8-10. Pretty much what richt was.

We aren't beating UGA or fsu til we catch them in talent. Mullen isn't out coaching either smart or Taggart with a loaded roster.

Omar is a dumbassYour quote from one of several 2018 projection threads:
"5-7
Mostly due to the OL/QB play wearing down our defense causing injuries and lack of depth. It's also an entirely new system on both sides of the ball..
CSU- 55-7 hype train starts W
UK- W 34-10
Colo St-L we get caught looking to UT
UT- W We come out focused after an embarrassing loss 24-13
MSU-L their defense is legit 24-10
LSU-L We should've got burrow 27-13
VU- W Turnovers let it be close 17-13
UGA- L. not a chance in hell 34-10
Miz- L Lock exposes our weak secondary due lack of depth 35-27
SCAR-L nail biting loss 17-20
ID-W
FSU- L .Taggart shows why we should've hired him 28-3"
Yep, you had a perfect read on him. If you'd like me to find more, I may have time later. But I'd just concede and move on with your trolling.
