Just my observation over the years, can’t say this is completely on target...

Consultants are oftentimes a semi-retired executive taking a high-level strategic look at a business. That certainly fits Spurrier’s status (if he’s still serving in that role).

An analyst is more of a data miner looking for trends, reporting their findings up to the company’s executives.

He was while mac was here. Once he became the Apollos’ HBC, I’m not sure if he retained the consultant role. Considering the number of games that he sat in the skybox seats (remember the WTH? look on his face during the miamuh game?) I thought maybe he was still filling the role.
