Any rum drinkers?

I know we had a great whiskey thread in the old place. But any rum drinkers here? Lately, I've been on a rum kick. I am in love with Zaya Gran Reserve. Only about 30 bucks.

Any other favorites?

I almost got the Kraken today, mainly because the bottle was so awesome. I picked up some Pampero Anniverserio aged rum.

I was poking around the interwebz and discovered that Appleton has a VERY limited edition 50 year old rum that goes for about $5,000 per bottle. I am intrigued.

Mount Gay Extra Old, Cruzan Single Barrel, Pyrat are my favorites. For a different flavor buy some Goslings Bermuda Rum and mix it with Ginger Beer (Dark & Stormy) - great drink!

Yep, if you are going to drink rum, get it from the place that invented it. Mount Gay from Barbados is top notch

Ginger beer is some nasty sh*t! I haven't had it mixed with rum, but tasted it on it's own...no way I could drink it again.

I agree - on its own it absolutely sucks. But Barrett's or Gosling's own ginger beer mixed with Gosling's Black Seal Rum is amazing. It's called a Dark & Stormy - my wife and I found it on a trip to Bermuda. And, don't ask me why, but if you serve it in a mason jar it gets a frothy head on it (doesn't usually do that in a rocks glass).
