Personally, I have a heartache with FSU teams that, altough talented, earned their way into the a NC game by padding the win column against the likes of Wake Forest, Duke, Maryland, Virginia, UNC, NC State, etc. Football behemoths all.
That's pretty much why I said they should switch #9 and #10. FSU doesn't, and never has played a hard enough schedule to deserve being raked above us.

Let's be honest. Would you rather have Bamas 10 ships or Ohio State's 5?

They haven't since they joined the ACC, but remember this is a forever ranking system. FSU's schedule as an independent in the '80s, when they finally made a name for themselves, was crazy hard. They had years where they went on the road to play Notre Dame and Oklahoma or Nebraska in the same month.

 Trust me, I was holding my nose as I posted that. Younger members here have no recollection, but, for example, check out these crazy schedules. It's how they got into the discussion of joining the SEC, then at the moment of reckoning Bowden goes and wimps out.

Part of getting older is the wonderful ability to forget things and have an excuse for forgetting them. I'm currently enjoying forgetting anything positive about the clowns. You're harshing my buzz man.

True. They played tougher teams pre-ACC... and they lost more games as well. Bowden learned his lesson. If you want to even sniff a shot at a national championship, then pad your win column by scheduling and crushing a bunch of cream puffs mixed in with one or two toss-up games. Roll the dice enough and you'll get into a NCG. The ACC fit the bill. The SEC was a non-starter.

Yeah, I get it, but the Bowden legend has as much to do with what he did before the ACC than after. He at least had balls earlier in his career.
