it was the multiple academic issues and his upcoming review/decision through the Honor Code Process that made him leave before he got canned.
this is 100% accurate. he was about to be expelled for being a 3 time cheater so he unenrolled before the formality of the official ruling came out. can newtown is still the same guy he was back then. and agree with NV on listening to him and shannon not too sharp. they are both freaking idiots.

I wasn’t disputing that. What I was disputing is whether he wanted to stay or not. It seems from the interview (and multiple interviews he has given in the past) that he wanted to stay at UF. He does say in the interview that he had maturity issues ehich may have also led to him not being able to stay at UF.

But the main reason why he left is because he could not get playing time.

He does credit the team and Urban Meyer for instilling the competitive fire in him to become as good as he became. He had pretty much nothing but good things to say about UF.
No, the main reason he left was because he was going to get booted... while we LOVED the Meyer teams at that time, the academic side of the house absolutely hated them, and Cam served himself up on a silver platter, not once, but twice.

One of my buddies younger brother was a tutor for the athletic program at the time. He tutored mostly the basketball team players, but they all fuching talk. Cam didn't help himself academic side of the equation at all. Could he have potentially gotten through it and stayed on the team, yes. Was it likely, hell no. It was going to be a lot of work. Work Cam wasn't going to do, and athletically gifted as he was, he needed to take a step back to take a step forward. The maturity and work ethic had to be made, which wasn't there.

As for the Swamp Kings documentary, it's a nice fluff piece and Cam knows it, UF knows it, and anyone who worked in the administration/coaching etc... knows it.

So now you're claiming that UF knowingly held out information on MURDER to the authorities?
It wasnt murder. But it was an agg assault or attempted murder technically.

But yes, the POLICE REPORTS stated they contacted Urban and he had no idea of who the 6-3 240 "Hispanic or Hawaiian" (witnesses words I guess) covered with tattoos and riding with the Pouncies and Reggie Nelson could have been. Are you seriously pretending you werent aware of this?

The best part of that entire theory was that it was Spring of 2007. Hernandez had never even taken a snap and was a recently arrived freshman.
Yes, he had just arrived on campus on Jan as an EE, which is why no one knew who he was.

Do people REALLY believe that no one with the football team could figure out who was with the Pounceys that day?

Even without the description?

UF would risk having the entire football program shuttered for good if they did something like that. Donkey is insane and ridiculous. Remember, he claims the "school" hid the info, not just Meyer.
UAA, football program and people within are "the school". They sure as hell didnt look to far, did they?

State Attorney didnt either. The witnesses didnt seem to want to spend much time with cops or around the courthouse.

At the risk of having this merged with the “We lost a legend today” thread, an intelligent person knows when to sit out a dangerous situation. There wasn’t even cocaine involved and the UF students knew they wanted no part of AH.

Fascinating stuff that rings true. Just hearing Newton reciting the names of all the players on the Florida roster makes you realize man what a juggernaut the Gators were back then,. Tebow and Newton were two great once in a lifetime athletes/players. Tebow was a mature leader from the start. Newton had the raw talent but needed a trial of Purgatory at a JUCO in Texas before he became a real leader. I give Cam Newton credit because he never gave up and went on to to achieve his goals. But he's now forever an Auburn Tiger and not a Florida Gator. I don't worry what might have been. Go Gators. Beat Auburn. Next.
