Just a reflection of the changes in cfb economics. Kind of like Jamarcus Russell getting the largest contract ever, then Stafford, etc.

That was a crazy buyout for being at CSU. I still cant believe they are getting about 6 million from Florida in reality with that double payment for the CSU game.

It really sounds like he wants to be the coach here. It would be great to see him start winning right away.

I betcha CSU never gets another coach to agree to that kind of buyout.

I have never heard of a coach agreeing to chip in on his own buyout. Just like we want quality players who WANT to come to Florida, we now have a coach who WANTS to come to Florida. Can it get any better than that?

A ridiculous payout and for this guy? Unreal. But good luck coach you will need it. Hey if Jimbo can do it why not the Gators new coach?

Was thinking along those lines, as well.

If the Gators have a good season next year like 9-3 or 10-2, watch the price for tickets go up significantly.:eek:ldman:

Their ex-AD is saying the President should have never agreed to the language in there and should have had just a straight 7.5 million buyout. They said donors for the stadium have got pissed and withdrawn 20 something million of the 40 something million for the down payment on it since this happened. He says no team would have paid a straight 7.5 million up front most likely.

I think the whole buy out issue is going to hurt their chances at future coaches. What coach wants to go their if they are going to be so publicly difficult over the buyout to a job which is a upgrade to their current job.
