Don’t look now, but where where will EJ end up next year?

Let’s hope not. Those two went to Tampa and lost to South Florida.

It was a joke. I don't think either are like the aforementioned players. I just wanted to stir the pot, as some of you are easily triggered these days. EJ won't be Pat White and he won't be Kyle Trask, but I personally think he will be a very good quarterback. Bowman will also be a great RB once he gets a full grasp of the offense.

Ahhh, now for the rest of the story. Perspective raises its ugly head yet again. I hate perspective.

I think EJ will startle us & the SEC.
He will be the #1 rushing QB in the SEC.
He will be in the top 3 of SEC passing QBs.
Grantham will be joked about by the TV announcers.

The list of starters not on THE LIST would require less bandwidth.

This just shows you how much of a crapshoot college football can be. One guy has us unranked, the next guy has us up there in the rankings. We obviously need to be ranked if we have mobile high tops John Unitas at quarterback.

I think you know what I mean.

If you like the idea of Mullen having his feet held to the fire, you’re pulling hard for Grantham & Co. to get their feet back on the ground. If the defense shows notable improvement, if the offense is led by an upperclassman specifically recruited by the head coach to run his offense, if in year #4 it once again comes down to the team not being able to fire on all eight cylinders, then what’s left to conclude beyond it’s time for a change at the top?

You have to think and certainly hope this is the thinking in the athletic director’s office.

Kid has talent, and I do think our offense will take a step back. Doesn't mean he won't have people taking a look at him.

It will definitely take a step back from leading the nation in passing. It may take a step forward in rushing, sustaining drives & some other elements that make it more balanced and help the defense a bit.

Emory will be somewhere between good and great. The WRs, TEs & RBs will provide enough targets to distribute the ball in the passing game. There’s good depth and talent among the RBs. The big question remains an OL that hasn’t been able to run block for years. Braun & White really need to take charge. If one or both of them excel, and Kingsley is able to win the center job, then maybe that changes.

And if Emory turns out to be a guy who makes others better, or if a RB emerges who makes the OL better because they don’t have to hold blocks as long, it could be an interesting year offensively.

Or so I hope in August…

This as I've said in other threads, it's not the skill positions I'm worried about, it's the lines. We have talent at the skill positions.

I wondered what happened to this guy.

When he signed with the Nulls, a former co-worker and clown alum, was bragging about this guy and saying how he was going to be a star in Jimbo’s system.

Not so much I guess. I think he only lasted a year before transferring to NC State. And now he’s at Middle TN.

It’s like an actor/actress that just keeps falling further and further from the original plan. Pretty sure the next stop is the sports equivalent of being in one of those Eric Roberts/Shannon Tweed movies.
