Florida leads nation in consecutive games without being shut out

Phil Steele pointed out in a tweet on Friday morning that the Gators have scored at least once in 348 straight games, and after further research, that dates back all the way to the 1988 season when they lost to Auburn, 16-0.

That’s 27-plus years. And counting.

Current streaks without being shutout
1. Florida 348
2. TCU 293
3. Air Force 285
4. Tennessee 273
5. VTech 269
6. Nebrska 256
7. Ga Tech 237

I did not know this. Makes that 2-27 F$U score so much more tolerable (not).

I wonder what the all time record is, as in not just the active streak.

This is why I always laugh at the people who wanted Freeze. He's been shut out twice at ole miss. Even chimp didn't get shut out.

I believe the last time UcheaT was shutout was when we went up there and whipped their ass 31-0 in 1994.

All time record is only like 12 or 13 more than that if I'm not mistaken. BYU has it.

I'm surprised more people didn't know about this streak.
It was a big part of the discussion during that FSU game. I didn't recall the actual number, but did recall the streak itself.

Thanks for the info.

Yeah our last three home games against the Clowns have all put the shutout streak in jeopardy. Sucks.

We used to own the longest bowl attendance streak. You can chalk that one up to the "Unmentionable"

I was at the '88 Auburn game.
We had a great defense led by Trace Armstrong and an offense that couldn't get out of it's own way. Sound familiar?

The Amadeeville horror offense. I think Smith was out that shutout. Unlike with Chump we at least racked points up against the 2 joke teams we played early that year.
