Grier will start, Treon will come in as Will did this past game. No surprise here.

At this point, why not? Teams will have to prepare for both. Grier appears to be a precision passer with great arm strength and accuracy, with the ability to scramble for big yards as well. Harris is a good passer, ad-libs well, great feet, very good on the run and out of the pocket.

It's double the work for opposing d-coordinators.

We'll see both quarterback against KY too. Mac knows the Oline will get beat and a QB will take a mean hit sooner or later (Treon got up hurting after one play) so he needs to have both ready. Also there were reports that WG had a harder time in the redzone than Treon, in SEC play we need to get TD's and not settle for field goals. So until we face some real defenses I don't think Mac is going to name a starter. Grier definitely looked good, nice tight throws, we need to see it against tighter coverage, once he gets that going for him he'll probably settle in as the starter, but Treon will still see the field.

If they both are as efficient as they were last night, I wouldn't care if they go with the rotation all damn year.

NMSU is trash. Basically a D-IAA team. This is UF. Grier is the better QB. Why prolong it?

It's the smart move, McElwain was always smarter.

Its called bringing out the best in both. And if you say NMSU is trash, how can you determine a starter against them. Your words are a bit hypocritical.

Everything is being done toward gaining an edge when the SEC schedule begins. It could be that McElwain doesn't see enough separation between the two, it could involve the offensive line, it could be that he wants to make it that much more difficult for SEC defenses to prepare for us, it could be all of them. But make no mistake, it's about getting to the top of the SEC East.

No reason not to against a team like ECU. Game experience is invaluable for QB's.

More than likely at some point during SEC play one QB will struggle more than the other and the decision will be made for Mac. If not, then I guess we do this all year long.

Not really. Grier has a much faster release and seems to actually go through his progressions. Treon might be slightly more talented physically but Grier seems to have it upstairs.

Technically, we should've named a started BEFORE any games were even played so your point is moot.

Seems Mac has more to gain and less to lose by still playing both of them. It will work itself out. Plus, we're getting a lot of press and fan interest from the competition. Just look at us, and it's going on everywhere.
