Nessler said we had 21 players who have either had or still have the flu... What in the F was our med staff doing? These guys should have had the shots long before this.

Agreed. There is no excuse for this.

It takes two weeks for the vaccine to work in your system. They should have had them done Labor Day or so. Bad move.

It appeared Grier had an arm injury at the end of the UT game. That, coupled with the flu, it may be better to save him for the next 2 games before the off-week, long-term wise.

As stated by LAGator, the flu vaccine wasn't available until last week due to a large backlog. Besides, there are many different flu strains. Each year the World Health Organization uses a best guess estimate to determine what vaccine should be made to cover what they think the prevalent viruses are going to be that year. Sometimes they hit and sometimes they miss.

Skip playing our biggest game in years to "save" him? Give me a break.

He'll be out there and he should be.

Grier gets rocked by flu right before facing the best D we've seen yet...

Hopefully it doesn't affect their performance. But the lack of practice time does have me a bit worried. This is a game that we can win--but we will need to be 100%. Hopefully the fans show up and voice it for an epic day in the Swamp.

His dad says he's playing fwiw.

Glad to hear but I think Mr Grier needs to stay away from Twitter and reporters and writing weekly columns. I'm a huge fan of Will Grier and believe he will lead us to championships again some day -but something seems very strange with all the fame in his family.

We are playing SEC football - not MTV reality shows.

Mr Grier is a head coach for a high school team. He should respect Mac and let him be the voice for the program. Unprofessional.

21 guys down with flu. Two O linemen (Riles and Thurman) playing hurt. No, we ain't 100%. Crikes, this means Grady becomes backup QB. Harris goes down and we're running like five offensive plays out of the "Gator Tail".

I agree to an extent but put yourself in his shoes. A father's zealous nature is just something that we're going to have to deal with and accept. At least Will has the talent to support it--we haven't had that in a long time. Hell, I've been hyping him since his first snap. He just seems to have that "moxy" to go along with his physical talents. Reminds me of Grossman.

I at least hope we keep it interesting. I plan on being lit like a Roman candle before heading to the stadium. A humiliation at the hands of OM will kill my buzz deader than Julius Caesar.

And if we pull it off I'm not coming down for days....

Who had the virus that brought the board down this week? Was that same person in contact with 21 players?

Yeah there's a big difference between the flu shot and actual vaccinations.
