Expand to 24 #24/25 play for last spot. Give the top 8 seeds byes. #1 gets homefield til semis. You can use the major 6 bowls. The teams that miss go to lower bowl games. Everyone wins.

8 team playoff, 5 P5 champions plus 3 at-large, one of which is the top-ranked G5. First round is a home game for the higher seeds, 2 weeks after conference championship games. Winners advance to the current scheme. Losers go to bowls games, too.

Everyone has a shot. #9 cant whine much.

I think you need to play a Championship...or play a Wild Card Game ...ND is out

And the Schedule should be weighted heavier...Encourage fewer FCS

Each team should play each other in a round robin format for 10 years, and then declare a winner. That would be 127 games over 10 years. If there ends up being a tie at the end - thumbwrestling.
