Has nothing to do with age of consent. You could be in a state where age of consent is 16, but the moment you take a nude picture of said 16 year old, you are now in possession of child porn.

No more pictures of grand kids in the bath tub or nude babies at the beach. Very common in my day. Usually showed up at receptions, rehearsal dinners and graduation parties.

Its mainly used for gaming like call of duty, madden etc, where you can chat and talk with gamers that you are playing with. Lets see what all comes out. He could have been having some juvenile conversation with someone that he was playing with, thought he would be funny, by sending some images, downloaded them and sent the ones he thought were relevant. Either way he is an idiot for doing something like that deserves what is coming to him.

The agency that flagged him in the first place is what makes it seem much worse than a high school girl he knew. They are usually monitoring for the really bad stuff

That's the thing, from all the cases that you read in the news, these guys are on the dark web trading these pics. If one is savvy and conniving enough to hit the dark web to get these pics then I would imagine he would be pretty dumb to just randomly share with someone on a public chat app. We will see, maybe they find a trove of bad stuff and sicko got too excited and shared these pics?
