Concerning Kitna, what a loser fuk-up. At lease it was CP and not C abuse. Good riddance. I keep thinking about the part reporting he not only was in possession but also "sharing". I hope it wasn't someone on the team he was sharing with, or if it was, hopefully they are the ones who helped lead to his arrest.

The Gainesville Police Department released a statement with more information:






“On Wednesday, November 30, 2022, members of the Gainesville Police Department and the Internet Crimes Against
Children (ICAC) Division served a search warrant at 2308 SW 38th Drive #6. The investigation initiated when GPD received
a Cyber Tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). The Cyber Tip indicated that a Discord
user distributed an image of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) through their platform.

Further investigation, by Gainesville Police Department Detective Montage, revealed that two images were shared, via
Discord, from the residence of 2308 SW 38th Drive #6. The investigation also revealed that the probable Discord account
holder was Jalen Kitna (W/M, 03-22-2003).

Detective Montague contacted Kitna at the residence and interviewed him. Kitna stated that he remembered sharing
the two images (CSAM) but believed them to be “legal”, since he found them online. Kitna advised that he realized he
should not have shared those two images, based on the reaction from the other Discord user that he shared them with.
Kitna advised shortly after that, his Discord account was deactivated and that he assumed someone reported him to
Discord. Kitna stated that he received an email from Discord stating that his account was deactivated due to violation of
the terms of service.

Kitna’s electronic devices were seized as part of the search warrant. Preliminary analysis of the devices revealed three
additional images of child sexual abuse material. The Gainesville Police Department arrested Kitna for two counts of
distribution of child exploitation material and three counts of possession of child pornography.

The Gainesville Police Department wants parents to be aware that children are solicited and exploited through social
networking applications. These social networking applications, like Discord, Facebook, KiK, Snapchat, TikTok and Tagged
are also used to share images and videos which depict young children being sexually abused. Please be vigilant and aware of any social networking platforms your children may access.”

I have a few freinds in LE that worked these sort of criminal cases in the past, all of have since moved on to completely different areas of LE or gotten out of LE altogether b/c of the toll these types of crimes place on everyone, even the investigators.

With that being said, arrests and charges in these matters dont happen lightly, primarily b/c most individuals are end item "users" or last link supply chain providers meaning they are the ones receiving for "use" or the last person to share. LE is primarily interested in the upper levels of the pyramid and use low level individuals to help them follow the chain upwards. What I'm ultimately getting at is that there is usually a mountain of digital evidence on anyone arrested and charged before it ever happens. They have him most likely dead to rights.

My only experience with this was in internal investigations of employee misconduct and that was enough for a lifetime. Of the five cases I can recall, there were three where the employee was in possession of pre-pubescent images, all of which resulted in criminal convictions. The other two were cases of images of teenage girls who could have passed for twenty somethings. In both of those cases, prosecution was declined. I’m with you; I suspect they have a very solid case and it’s ugly.

Its mainly used for gaming like call of duty, madden etc, where you can chat and talk with gamers that you are playing with. Lets see what all comes out. He could have been having some juvenile conversation with someone that he was playing with, thought he would be funny, by sending some images, downloaded them and sent the ones he thought were relevant. Either way he is an idiot for doing something like that deserves what is coming to him.

Fox News has picked up the story. Not good for Kitna. Probably looking at a few years minimum in the federal pen if he has even a few pictures in his possession. If the pictures show kids much younger than what an 18 year old looks like, or he has many more images, he could be looking at a longer stretch.

Has nothing to do with age of consent. You could be in a state where age of consent is 16, but the moment you take a nude picture of said 16 year old, you are now in possession of child porn.

Regardless it doesn't matter what the age of consent is. For explicit pictures or videos, that's 18 period, AFAIK.
