Damn, he can't stay healthy. Time for Pierce. A lot of Pierce.
More Frank designed runs
Damn! Feel sick for the kid. Hope he has a quick recovery. But, I agree. Pierce deserves to be the starter in my opinion. He looks like our best running back.
Dan was asked at the Monday presser about him. Says Dameon is earning more touches, but has to get little things like route running and blocking assignments polished.
Figured that. He is our best RB for running, but there is more to the position.
That sucks for Malik, bring on the Fierce Pierce.
I get that Scarlett may be better at pass protection at this point, but he’s looked suspect catching the ball. If it’s 3rd and 2 against Tennessee, I think Mullen would be foolish to hand anyone else the ball before Pierce. He’s a beast.
Does the new redshirt rule only apply to freshman?
Yeah, that sounds completely normal for a freshman RB. I'm excited for his future here, though. It sure is unfortunate about Davis. He's a real talent.
He'll get a redshirt and be ready next year. But that sucks.
I like Malik. Very smooth runner. He'll be back. But, Dameon Pierce is about to explode onto the college football landscape. It's time.
Agreed. Plus, think about next year: Scarlett moves on, Perine is the savvy vet, and Davis/Pierce are fighting it out for starter. RB is our healthiest position group.
Guessing for the year?
Kid needs to carry a rabbits foot or 5...
No. He qualifies.
This might be a blessing in disguise, gives his knee an extra year to heal. I hate it is happening to a good kid. At least he won't lose a year of eligibility.
I wouldn't rule him out for the season. A small fracture and he could go in 5-6 weeks. A doubt he uses all his eligibility anyway so coaches might ask if he wants to go later in the year.
I’d say the kid can’t catch a break, but that’s exactly what just happened to him.
And it shows babies like Lemon that in the SEC you are only a play away.
An "extended period of time" is all that accompanied the announcement, but I'm not sure it's worth the risk to rush him back.
