Not a whole lot in this...but he does mention the OL is looking better.

You know when McElwain starts the talk with “Our kicker can kick an extra point”, things are about to get interesting.

The Southwest Florida Gator Club, the Naples Gator Club, and the University of Florida Alumni Association came together on April 26th to bring Jim McElwain to speak at the Harley Davidson in Fort Myers, Florida.

McElwain gave his “state of the union” and a Q&A followed. Both portions covered the basics like the future of the team, the shining stars, and current condition of the Gators.

The main thing that could be taken away from the talk was the positivity and drive the team possesses. Skill is one thing, but no one will ever get anywhere without drive.

“We’re continuing to get good men that are willing to invest in something bigger than themselves,” said McElwain. Coach also said if you’re not willing to take that step, you’ll never get anywhere.

Being a Gator does not only mean going to the school, it means truly embracing the spirit and believing change is good. According to McElwain, “when we do something, we do it first class.”

There are no if’s, and’s, and but’s. There are no exceptions or excuses. This is exactly how the Gators are going to get back to the top. McElwain got the most wins in his first season out of any coach in school history. He did not win SEC Coach of the Year for nothing. He knows what he is doing, and he is going to help us become better version of ourselves.

McElwain says despite losses defensively, offensive line is looking better and better.

However, it is imperative to start with one game at a time. Gators are ready for UMass and the 2016 football season.

Always good to hear that the head man is out trying to rally the local faithful.

Just remember coach you've still got to score a touchdown before you get to try an extra point.
