Willie Green, local blues legend died Monday. Willie was a fixture at the Yearling Restaurant in Cross Creek.
RIP.
The staff at the Yearling doted on Willie, making sure he took his diabetes meds. I remember once he went on break after a set, and about 1/2 hour later I walked back to the restroom and Willie was sound asleep in the bar. The Yearling is a great, rustic venue and Willie was the perfect compliment to a perfect venison stew, gator bites and cold beer on a fall Saturday.
