Dan's returning our swagger. Say what you want about him, but I bet other teams aren't clamoring to play us anymore. We had become a laughingstock. Not anymore. He's given us credibility. Restoring the mystique. I like where the program is going. And YES my opinion is that we will win a championship under Dan.
How is there a safety in Deland(#54Williams) that isn't committed to us......better be a staff member camped out on his front doorstep...Deland is an hour from Gville for Gods sakes....I'll wait for the excuses.
No one celebrates this coaching staff’s challenges, and agonizes the staff’s successes, more than the donkster.
That's the opinion of us message board novices.Renard, I have no doubt that Mullen is a good coach, but is he an elite coach? Saying that he might get one championship a lot of dudes have one Champioship at a Premier program because the stars align the right way (ie Coker). Does he have the attention to detail that is needed to put us in that conversation annually. The evidence doesn't suggest that. Now again that's not saying he is bad, just not elite. A person who runs every detail to the point where the ship doesn't vary too off course, which is more needed in this era of College Football due to the Playoff. Would Meyer, Saban, Dabo, or Spurrier after two weeks of preparation allowed an offense to come out with wrong cards when they were also serving as OC?
I think we've got more pumpers than anyone.. You have a couple of Baghdad Bobs
SOS won 6+ 1 championships.. I keep saying this, but SOS only won 1 championship. .
You need a vacation
I apologize I’m slightly confused, probably from the lack of sleep. No, I get the numbers. I'm just thinking if we were to get Williams, we'd now have two true Safeties (plus Britt who should also end up there) and one that is more of a project athlete. If we're teaching him something anyway, would it be worth a shot to at least see what he can do on O?
Again, you're probably right. It's likely not been mentioned for a reason. Just thinking out loud.

Actually the evidence says he has great attention to detail. Just look at his teams opposed to previous coaches.
Coaches winning multiple championships at one school is an anomaly. And yes, usually a lot of things have to go right. Dan eluded to that in this presser yesterday. You think Ed O is gonna become the next Saban? I don't. He caught lightning in a bottle this year. I keep saying this, but SOS only won 1 championship. There won't be another Saban. Dan gets his QBs and I think that will always keep us competitive.
are you serious? there will be a hundred more people trying to explain it away. claim we did fine. claiming there's this new offense where you don't need running backs or wide receivers. (There is of course called 2016 Cowbell.)especially given that our shortcomings are blatantly obvious to even the most casual observer, is overwhelming.
.

But what are we teaching McDaniel? Safety? He was a 3 year safety in high school before being a cornerback this year (if I’m reading you correctly). I think moving Britt to offense would be the better choice, freeing up a safety spot for Williams
Don't need to read and besides, I am too old to weep. Stop trying to hang this one on me. Since CDM was announced I have been the most consistent poster here on the subject of his recruiting: he ain't any good at it. I laid out the only path that CDM could follow that would get him and us to the top: create a happy environment, win on the field, and develop players in the hope that slow improvement gradually gets the program recruiting for itself.Read em and weep:

Now that hope remains viable, though barely. His recruiting class must be better than last year's. P. S. He needs better facilities in the worst possible way.
No one thinks it is a ledge, just more mediocrity.

it's not like this is new. we've signed garbage wide receiver classes and garbage running back classes for three years in a row.
and garbage linebacker classes. and garbage safety classes. and 2 years of garbage DT classes.
A good-but-not-great line class this year doesn't offset that.
Is this coaching staff only able to do one thing at a time? Why?
Noise in the system's exactly what fixes the **** eventually, although I think this is not going to be fixed until after the Georgia game in 2021.
