Gator Basketball ***Official Game Thread BBALL***#17 Florida THROTTLES Texas A&M

I have mentioned this before to a deafening silence, so maybe I am beating a dead horse, but.... I agree that Todd does a good job of working the refs, but I still say that he doesn't get the respect from the officials that he should have earned. The double hold on Chin is a case in point. Todd appeals, the refs see 2 people holding Chinyelu like he was detained by LEOs and the officials say "No foul". A coach in his third year in the league with an SEC tourney win, a National Championship, and his team currently in first place shouldn't be disrespected like that. That's how I feel. The AD should be raising heck with the league office. That's my feeling, but maybe it's just me.

I hear you Ancient and it ain’t right but consider these two points: 1) We all know Todd is a good coach and he does work the refs but he looks much younger than he is and, right or wrong, guys like that often don’t get the respect they deserve from the officials, hence some situations like the Chin-no call; 2) expecting Scott Stricklin to demand better from the conference would likely result in this…

I actually think Todd does what he needs to do where the refs are concerned…he pleads his case but gets back to coaching and doesn’t turn every controversial call or no call into a fire storm that results in a technical and doesn’t turn into a ref stalker that spends the greater part of the game berating the officials whether they deserved it or not. His kids don’t appear to need that kind of coaching. I will say that it is quite ironic that ever since the advent of three officials, the quality of officiating overall has gotten worse. The reviews/challenges that are used can certainly be helpful but as we saw with Chin’s situation they aren’t always interpreted correctly.

I agree, cover. I, too, (as I said) like the way he works the refs -- with respect and persistence which (imo) is the way it should be done. But at this point, he should be accorded more respect and our institution (AD office) should be standing behind him. I see no evidence that they are.

Our AD raising heck with the league? :bwahaha:
He commands exactly zero respect.

What are you saying. Not only did I say it, I was misunderstood the same way this post was -- they thought that I was complaining about Todd. I wasn't. My complaint was about the officials and our AD. I understand that young coaches don't get the respect that veteran coaches do. But, despite his youthful appearance Todd should now be treated as an established coach. Of course, this post may be your idea of humor. I would ask you to explain, but humor explained is notoriously sad.

I gotta say that Todd is not a statue, that bad ass is up and down talking to officials, letting them know what HE saw and they seemed to miss. He is excited, angry, pissed, jubilant and even connected to the crowd at times and always gives his boys an attaboy at the end when the come through with a great game. I think Todd has developed a good relationship with some of the refs. That game was old style where you just foul so much you know they ain't calling them all. And our boys seem to easily handle it that night. But Tommy let that little bchhh know hitting him in the back was chcnnshttt... A side I have not seen. Todd is like SOS, the refs ain't gonna get in his way too much. Im sure I can think of more but the coffee is weak this morning.

Watching the game again on sec network. One of the most satisfying wins ever. Tamu was a pressing and running team. We ran them out of their own gym. My kind of ball.

Basically you secure it as long as the search warrant is going on. You don't "own" the crime scene for a week or even a day after the search warrant is done.
ya know, i’m about over your constant smug contrarian expertise on every effing subject that floats through the chat box. You’re not even giving Bernie a chance to chime in.

Look at the mustache and eyebrows on the pizza guy. Is he returning to the scene of the crime to put his prints at the door (again)?

Devil rock jumped the shark with Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. In fact, I'd argue that no good Devil rock has been produced since Paranoid back in 1970. By the way, Marilyn Manson's real name is Bryan Warner, he's from Boynton Beach, and he's a total douchebag. A friend of mine wrote an article about him and used his real name. So Briiiian calls him, has a shrieking meltdown on the phone, and threatened to sue him. Very "Boca."
seen him once in concert opening for the smashing pumpkins and it was entertaining
