Yep we were running behind last year a little thru game 6 but have vaulted ahead of last years yards since the Georgia game.

by 34 spots, we were 112th last year. EMU also helped since we never put a FCS school away like that under Muschamp.

True - it may show with the right guy at QB maybe Muschamp will let it fly a little but its still too early to tell for sure.

And lets not forget we've played one less game than everyone else, and a cupcake at that. Based on Eastern Michigan, I'd assume we would have had a similar type offensive performance against Idaho.

Any game with WM roaming the sidelines is a coin flip.

Averaging 36 per game since QB change. That is who we are.

Coach, a real offense would have dropped 50 on Vandy. We've got a long, long, way to go.

When you play defense you don't need to score 50. A low risk 36 will win most every game.

The most anyone has scored on them this year is 48, so I guess they haven't faced a real offense all year?

I agree. I don't think anyone on the team thinks we are near our potential yet. That being said, we are already light years ahead of where we were with Jeff. Our new leader is a true freshman with two starts, I would hope we haven't already peaked already.

Not a bad idea.

On a similar not, when a defense gets a turnover score, or sets up like a 1-2 play drive for the offense, I've always thought coaches should call a timeout before the first play of the opposing team's ensuing drive. Especially if they've been out there a lot. Your D goes and earns you points, and is basically told "Thanks, now go right back out there". No data to support it, but I bet a solid 50% of the next drives result in points, simply due to the defense being gassed. A time out there seems so obvious, and I literally say it every time it happens.

But between setting up for PAT's and kickoffs, the defense does get a good bit of rest.

Completely agree, the 2 games are not a good enough sample size.

But even by coaches' admissions, their ideal drive would take 6-7 minutes off the clock(10-15 minutes real time) en route to a TD. Then you have the PAT and kickoff on top of that. It gives the defense a chance to really regroup and rest.

Just the PAT, followed by a kickoff is somewhere between a 3 and out and a one 1st-down, 4-6 play drive in terms of down time fro the defense. As I said, in games with parity, watch how many times the opposing team slices through a defense on the following drive.

Depends on when the turnover happened. If it happened early in the opponent's drive, then no need for using a timeout, but if it happened late then you might have a point.

Carolina comes in averaging 35.9 points a game. If we play a clean game they should not approach that number.

Based on what I've seen from South Carolina we should win this game. But muschamp usually figures out ways to lose these type of "Should win" games. But I do believe we should be able to put up points on that reeling defense of theres, and I say our defense will play well. I see us winning by about 7-10 points
