There was a college nickname game where you had to guess all the nic's that did not end in an S....cool game. Obvi, Cardinal is one lol.

My son's first year playing football he was on the Cardinals but the dumb ass who made the jersey's misspelled Cardinals so they were the Carnals the whole year. Only in Georgia.

Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. What the F is a Chanticleer and who freaking cares?

It’s a rooster. And whenever I hear the word rooster, I immediately think of Sir Oliver Humperdink and the time he lost a match and consequently was nicknamed “Rooster” by Dusty Rhodes while acting as Stardust’s man servant for 30 days. I also think of Terry Taylor when he became the “Red Rooster” in WWE and walked around the ring crowing, stutter stepping & craning his neck like a rooster. So ultimately Coastal Carolina could call themselves the “Fighting Humperdinks” or the “Terry Taylors” and it would be the same thing.

Then you have Auburn who can't make up their minds who they are. "Plainsman, "War Eagles", "Tigers".
Then down my way, the State College of Florida, "Manatees", hence "Sea Cows".
