Have they released the details of the contract yet? If he goes even 4-8, I bet no matter how much the buyout, some Cock booster will offer to pay it.
The dust has settled on South Carolina’s hire of Will Muschamp on Monday, and some of the details of the business side of the decision are coming out.
CoachingSearch.com is reporting that Muschamp has agreed to a 5-year deal that has a beginning salary of $3 million per season, with an escalation of $100,000 each year.
The initial buyout is set at $7 million, and will decrease by $1 million after the completion of each season, sliding down to $3 million by the time the deal is over.
According to The State, Steve Spurrier made $4 million as South Carolina’s head coach last season and no other SEC head coach at a public institution made less than $3.25 million.
Muschamp made $1.6 million as Auburn’s defensive coordinator in 2015 according to AL.com, and is still drawing money on a $6.3 million buyout that Florida owes him after his firing in 2014.
They couldnt beat Mizzou this year. What makes you think they will next?
I think he could win as many as six games. At UF he was able to use previous recruits on offense. By the time he brought his own recruits in the wheels came off. So with Spurrier's recruits I say he may be able to pull off six wins. In 2 years he'll be pulling off 3 to 4 wins.
Has a team ever going to winless in the SEC? I don't mean winless against the SEC in conference. I mean completely Winless.
Wouldn't that be something?
Pretty sure USC did under Brad Scott.Has a team ever going to winless in the SEC? I don't mean winless against the SEC in conference. I mean completely Winless.

So, you weren't around for 0-10-1?
