Anybody know the name of the device dead center below the CRT?

The photo gets fuzzy when you zoom in but it looks to be about the time frame when Compaq bought DEC. I'm going to say Digital although it could be a generic white-box.

3.5" floppy and a DVD drive

Look at how heavy the CRT is and is bending the case cover

I'm not sure they had DVD drives back in that time. Maybe it is just simply a CD player? Ummm, Compact Disk that is... ;)
