Parts of it were. That was a team coming into its own and adapting to new talent. Let's be honest. Meyer's special teams were essential to getting us to Atlanta and giving the young offensive talent more experience, which culminated in the shocking coming-out party against Ohio State in Glendale.
As for Law, he's an impatient north-south guy much like the author of the Fun N Gun, the quicker through the air from A to B the better. Hell, we all loved it while it was around, didn't we? I know I did.
But, no, Law never embraced the spread option. The Meyer-Mullen offense was too wishy washy for his taste in spite of the prolific numbers we put up from 2007-2009.
I suspect the blowup of the 2019 recruiting class combined with what I viewed as a so-so effort against Miami provided the telling blows for him.
