this patch of jonquils(daffodils) just started blooming. It always means spring is around the corner. When I bought the property this patch stretched out hundreds of feet. When we tore down the farmhouse and rebuilt, the landscape was re-graded and covered up thousands of bulbs. I could probably thin it out considerably but we have so many around the yard already. There are several varieties mixed in there.

It’s asparagus time! The purple variety will be ready to pick in a day or two. IMG_7681.jpeg

It’s that time of year again. Finally warm enough to start planting in KY. Lots of work ahead of us but this is a start.

12 yards of mulch delivered

One flower bed weeded and mulched today. Working on others.

Garden was tilled for the last time by @Seedy before we plant this week.

I’ve been collected Lowes clearance plants for the last month. They were all 50% off. They’ve had to be babied through the cold temps. Now it’s time to get them all planted in their pots and hung on the porches and driveway.

This stump was leftover from a storm. Since the center was hollow I decided to make it a planter. We will probably cut it down but for now I like it.

I’ve posted this before, but every year I have a rose that seems lay low, completely dormant, having grown into a jasmine vine along a fence I have, only to get inspired each spring when the jasmine decides to bloom and produce a flower of its own. This is year eight of this occurrence and makes for a great picture.

This memory popped up on FB from 14 years ago. This has happened twice where we’ve had lake front property for a day or 2. Unfortunately 14 years ago I had planted the garden the week before. A total loss and had to replant.

Grow baby, grow! Mostly rows of vodka (volunteer potatoes) growing  Green beans, cow peas, black turtle beans, squash, zucchini, okra, shosito peppers, jalepeno and several types of tomatoes.

Some of the bigger beds have been mulched but others need to be cleaned up have edging out down. This one is my favorite.

Netting over the blueberry bushes to keep the birds out. Otherwise we wouldn’t get any berries. There’s a prolific raspberry bush on the other side that the birds don’t care about.

This is an afterthought. This tree fell in a storm last year and the center was hollow. I’ve dumped a few perennials around it and then add my leftover annuals. I only see it when I leave the driveway but starting to enjoy it a lot. Dumb I know but I like it.

Garden is coming in nicely!, If that were my bed I'd have a couple of cabbage plants in there.

Not much of a Raspberry fan, but I'd shoot any bird that got near my Blueberry bush!

Stump is looking very nice as well. Keep up the good work.
