Many people have spoken about Napier as a high character honorable man. I still believe it. And in my defense I think a coach needs three years to get his guys and his system in place. And last year it looked like we turned a corner. Yes, I know there are coaches that can do it in one or two years. But that was pre NIL/Portal. Which also could mean you can do it faster. Whatever. Napier needs to go. His record speaks volumes why. So now this is addressing Mr Napier.

Sir, I have bled so much orange and blue over sixty years I periodically need transfusions.......I have an entire large room dedicated to gator history and my servitude. Twice a gator grad and blah blah blah ......My point is, you are a high character guy. Decent man. You tried. You have failed in the eyes of almost all of us There is no shame in failure. None. I think you gave it your best shot and it ain't happening. So knowing all this you do not deserve that entire buyout. Take 1/3 of it and let's call it a day. I can live with it if you take 1/2 but can you?

Maybe so but this is the fourth time we have been burned with these types of contracts. In addition, why do we keep giving these guys extensions before any measurable results? Where was Billy going to go if we had not done that and make the same kind of money?

This. And while I commend coach for his optimism, and do agree with his premise that it’s absurd that he will make this much money for completely failing. My question though would be when he doesn’t do that, do we go back and revisit the whole “decent, honorable, high character man” aspect of the argument?
