This will be a long two weeks

We know that the practice facilities will be on lock down over the next two weeks. It is going to be rough going for two weeks speculating about changes before we head to Knoxville. The Creamsicles will give us everything they got. I have been convinced since last week that something has to be done at QB. The dropped passes are bad but often times Jeff throws a ball that is that is hard to catch. Danny Wuerfel had a pretty weak arm but threw one of the most catchable balls I have ever seen. I have heard interviews with Jeff. He talked like Roper teaching him the concept of putting air under a throw was some sort of epiphany. One thing I did see with Treon was how he put touch on both of those td's against the sacrificial lambs. Jeff missed on a lot of the touch throws that day. Jeff earned most of his yards with quick hitches with yards after the catch. All but 71 yards against KY went to D Rob. That change must be made for us to mount any sort of serious offensive threat.

The defense still has a lot of young guys. The secondary is all suspect except for VH3 and he is also young. I really don't know how you can really single out one guy. That first play was on Muschump. I saw a breakdown by Greg McElroy that detailed exactly what Bama was going to do. He said he was going to put RB's out wide to tip off man coverage from zone. Putting Morrison on that RB was all on Muschump. Lame used formations and personnel to pick us apart deep. That comes down to communication and better coaching. Our defense made some bone head plays but they also made some plays that should have seized some momentum.

That's my rant...anyone else got specific ideas to prepare for the Land Phil?

Not really except getting the secondary straight and benching Driskel. All I heard Muschamp really say was he was going to take this off week and run it training camp style so the players start tackling correctly etc. - he didn't mention anything about the QB situation moving forward for the most part.

There's no question the Vols smell blood in the water. They aren't going to have a better opportunity to snap the streak.

As much as I like making fun of the Vols, we will have a tall order. Kentucky might actually be a closer to a typical Kentucky team when all is said and done. I think the Vols will be a much crisper passing team. Justin Worley is no Peyton Manning but he is better than Jeff which again isn't saying much at all. If our secondary doesn't grow up quick, we are in trouble.

That Tenn QB does have some nice touch on the ball when he gets time. He will pass all over us if we haven't corrected some of the problems in the secondary.

Tennessee is going to have a field day. They have a way better passing game than bama. I don't know why anyone would expect our secondary to be any different.

Yep he has made some very good throws in the games I watched him play this season. Didn't watch the Oklahoma game however.

He's got two big fast receivers and he can sling it around. Their o line is a little shaky but they'll beat us. I just hope we can make it a game.

I suppose the one advantage we may have is the vols are probably expecting victory after watching our film.

It'll be a lot shorter if that press conference is simply to announce the new coach. The old one should be long gone by then.

I have a feeling Tenersee will be looking past us toward Chattanooga, so maybe we'll sneak up on them.

He said something about staying the course for now
