If the BCS was in existence, then the championship game isn't even that controversial. There's going to be a ton of disagreement over this Final Four. UGA or Texas is better than an FSU without its starting QB, but that undefeated record stands in the way, ironically with UF having a hand in it either way. They beat a bad Florida team but they struggled in the process.
Let’s hope the committee isn’t drinking Bud LiteIf the BCS was in existence, then the championship game isn't even that controversial.
The four best conference champion teams are clearly Michigan, Washington, Texas, and Bama. This lineup would be the best series of games in the playoff's young history. It would be a travesty to swap any of these teams with fsu because that would result in another boring blowout that people turn off after the first quarter. I think the committee knows this and will leave fsu out.
It's not conference champs (although you could argue that maybe it should be) but rather 4 best teams. Ugly would curb stomp FSUcks. And if you are going conference champs, Bama would also curb stomp FSUcks. If FSU wins....I would go Michigan, Washington, FSU, Texas....if FSU loses, Michigan Washington Texas Bama
then they violate the intent of the four "best" teams. But I think they are going to value a no loss conference champ over any 1 loss team, regardless of the reality of who is actually better.
Who the heck listens to Mullen? And why would any Gator quote him?Mullen had Michigan, Washington, fsu and Texas.
Joey Galloway had Michigan, Washington, Texas and Bama.
then they violate the intent of the four "best" teams
The discussion wouldn't be complete without Kanell weighing in.
It's not a playoff if a committee still has to select teams...it's just expanded BCS.then they violate the intent of the four "best" teams
I don't disagree. I would like to see a more structured approach starting with conference champs. I've never like a "committee" or "voting". But given the current rules, assuming they follow their own rules, if a conference champ is not one of the four best, then they sit-out.But, undefeated conference champ of a power conference has to mean something
I'd rather leave it all on the field like every single other level of football from top to bottom does, rather than leave it up to some douchebag in a suit. Thanks goodness the playoffs are expanding to 12 teams next year. Because FSU's undefeated season thanks to a terrible conference will be duplicated by the new-look Big 12 champ for years to come.
It's not a playoff if a committee still has to select teams...it's just expanded BCS.
I think FSU should be left out for the 4 "best" teams reason. But, I want FSU in.

Not to mention have the #1 recruiting class, the best talent base in CFB, multiple NC's in the last couple of years, this years SEC East title, a coach who like it or not knows how to hire a staff, and manage a game effectively....I'm all for telling them to f off, but this is stupid. Georgia is either favored in a major bowl or still squeak into the playoff. Meanwhile Florida sits on the couch jerking off to pornhub bc they have nothing better going for them.
