http://www.usatoday.com/story/sport...-foley-coaching-carousel-art-briles/90094134/

"In conversations with people familiar with the matter, one potential issue has come up several times: Foley’s continued presence at Florida in an emeritus position. Essentially, some higher-profile athletics directors who might have been interested in the job aren’t sure about the dynamics of having Foley, who was credited for much of Florida’s athletics success during his 25-year run, right down the hall."

Interesting.

They should just split there responsibilities. The new AD gets full control of football and basketball.

Foley gets all the other sports.

I can definitely buy that rationale. Who would want to have the guy who did your job for the last 25 years sitting down the hall with not much to do?

Will Spurrier & Foley have to share an office cause those haven't been upgraded either? - :dunno:

If Foley is retiring then he needs to retire and leave the building. If you are going to stay then stay and get over this charade. I like Foley, but I can definitely see how a new AD would not want him looking over his shoulder.

Foley needs to pack his bags and hit the road. you set us back 10 years in football, don't set us back another 10 years by hanging around. We need new blood influencing the power sports and Foley needs to be in a recliner, far far aways from this place.

There is no if about it, he needs to retire or be fired.

Give him a gold watch inscribed "thanks for the memories 1991-2008", then a gentle shove out the door.

Many thanks to Foley for oh aout 85% of everything, but if he wants to retire, then do what retirees do, not stay around the damn office!

I will remove the dislike after a while. I know some of you get all twisted about dislikes for some reason.

I mean this guy, really? (For the Le Betard fans)

Foley probably wants to make sure the next AD doesn't ignore our Women's competitive chess team and that they get new facilities before football sees another dime.

Did Meyer rub off on him too much? He doesn't know if he wants to retire or not.

Great. So now we'll end up with the AD from FAU.
