Good post Joe. Some of these guys decry a healthy running game and like SOS, would rather lose a game than run the ball, even if that is what the defense is giving them. Whether you run to set up the pass or pass to set up the run, you have to be able to move the ball on the ground.

nobody's opposed to a good running game . Is it absolutely criminal to ask for a 3000 yard passer? I've already said I'm confident in mcelwain and his ability to create a passing game. Just because one is jumping for joy because we're not particularly a fan of nussmeier doesn't mean we are hoping for a Mike leach offense.

I'm not sure what to think of this if it becomes true. I think it was believed that he and Saban didn't get along. This is an interesting article about Nussmeier where Saban begged him to throw the ball more. We definitely don't want a 3 yards and a cloud of dust offense.
