The UGA TE's comment is the crux of how I watch games and what forms my opinions about a coach and the staff. It IS the process vs. the end results. As I said if WM's teams beat Ga. So. by 1 or we execute a punt against an awful USCe team, he might still be the coach strictly due to the final score. But clear eyes do not lie. I commend the UGA player for speaking the truth. I have no problem with the optimists just like I have no problem with the pessimists. The problem is that most of us are REALISTS, we just get classified as pessimists b/c the optimists do not like what their and our eyes see clearly.
When I watch a Gator game, I'm constantly yelling at the TV for the Gators to do better, demanding perfection at times because I know they can be better than what I'm watching, scaring my son half the time. After the game's over, I calm down and realize it's only a game.
It really comes down to the glass half full or a glass half empty conundrum. If my glass is half full, I'm gonna keep drinkin' it. If it's half empty, I'll probably top it off just to be safe. Right now, my glass is half full and I'm gonna keep drinkin' it.
Sure, we're not killin' it right now and we have some issues to iron out (recruiting for one, and suspect asst coaches) and some long term solutions (OL) - I believe even the most optimistic of us doesn't dismiss these issues and we see that the product on the field is not up to the level we would like it to be, but right now we're in the driver's seat to win the east (again) so I'm gonna continue to drink from my glass half full and hope for the best.
