Preseason polls are generally worthless except to get a grasp on who some of the top teams might be.

How is boise ahead of tcu? How is tcu not atleast top3. They return like 10 starters on offense and you know Gary Patterson is one of the best defensive minds in the game.

How? Because it's done based on opinion, not results.

We're ranked 69th. Behind UCF. I think we'll have a transition year. Finishing in the low 20s. Possibly outside the top25. 69th? Rubbish.

Oh, and Boise St. In the top 5? Ridiculous.

if you watched last season, can you make a logical argument we deserve to be higher? This has to be a transition year to show we are better than the last 2 years.

Higher than 69??? That's a trolling statement. The answer is unequivocally yes. On talent alone we're top 25. We have some issues with talent at WR, depth at OL, and experience at QB. That doesn't put a team like Florida at number 69. The ranking is utterly ridiculous.

We only have like four seniors on this team. So it's young. There are host of other teams in the SEC that have the same issues sans the OL depth issues. And not nearly the same talent. Particularly on defense. And they're not being ranked 69th. It's just a slap in the face.

It's a preseason poll, what did we show last year, with the exclusions of what was lost to the NFL, transfers, and graduation that would make someone believe higher than 69. The teams with less talent above us, play significantly less talent and have much easier schedules. It's not like they are going to be playing an SEC schedule. It's about your team and what your team has to face. Could UCF potential have a better record because they play in the Always Awful Conference (AAC). There is a good chance of that. We play a vastly harder schedule, and have major question marks on the team. This UF team could be anywhere from 6 wins to 9 wins depending on health and health of opponents. There are not that many teams that will have that violent of a difference depending on the health of a few guys (OL).

It's great to have talent, but we need to have proven talent. What has this group of talent proven in the last 2 years?

We're not No. 1. I'm shocked. Getting rid of Muschamp should have given us a 68 spot bump.

The departure of Will Muschamp was easily enough to raise us 20 spots or more in the rankings. I say we finish the year in the #15-20 range.

That's it, if Muschamp and his staff were still here... would we be in the 80's or about here our offense was ranked.

Wtf is more overall talent? Stars on a recruiting site? Of players half of whom have transferred and the other half of whom all play Db? Is that what you are trying to tout? And what does it matter?

This team with these players have basically been 6-6 for the last four years, just like the Voles. It doesn't matter how many stars they earned in camp between their junior and senior year of hs. 69th is a pretty fair prediction for a team who struggles with directional schools...despite recruiting stars.

Why are you all so amazed when every objective analyst and even homers like the GS guys tell you that which should be obvious to you already, then you whine like bytcjes about their assessments.

Really? :rotfl: We have caught Volsheimers.

As much as I hate to admit it, it appears much of the fan base has.
We don't deserve, nor should we claim to be anything more than we are right now...which is a bottom rung team in the SEC. We have to go out and EARN any ranking/respect before we start saying "we should be ranked xx". Let's leave the "we're back" or "we're more talented" BS to losers like the Vols.
