Higher than 69??? That's a trolling statement. The answer is unequivocally yes. On talent alone we're top 25. We have some issues with talent at WR, depth at OL, and experience at QB. That doesn't put a team like Florida at number 69. The ranking is utterly ridiculous.
We only have like four seniors on this team. So it's young. There are host of other teams in the SEC that have the same issues sans the OL depth issues. And not nearly the same talent. Particularly on defense. And they're not being ranked 69th. It's just a slap in the face.
It's a preseason poll, what did we show last year, with the exclusions of what was lost to the NFL, transfers, and graduation that would make someone believe higher than 69. The teams with less talent above us, play significantly less talent and have much easier schedules. It's not like they are going to be playing an SEC schedule. It's about your team and what your team has to face. Could UCF potential have a better record because they play in the Always Awful Conference (AAC). There is a good chance of that. We play a vastly harder schedule, and have major question marks on the team. This UF team could be anywhere from 6 wins to 9 wins depending on health and health of opponents. There are not that many teams that will have that violent of a difference depending on the health of a few guys (OL).
It's great to have talent, but we need to have proven talent. What has this group of talent proven in the last 2 years?
