They aren't loving them some Urbs up in Columbus right now, especially his middle school one man band offense:

It's funny. Some of those posts look eerily familiar.
I've been a big fan of the style of offense Urban runs, but I'm starting to wonder about Herman. I'm starting to notice a trend in big games offensively and they are not good ones. We have been out coached in 3 of the past 4 games. ...arguably 4 of 5. Too much reliance on Braxtons athleticism and not developing other players Tonight it was evident.
My thing is why continue to stock pile all these fast guys when we don't even ****ing use them? Tom Herman has no idea what to do when he has a defense that is successful in making it difficult. Oh he can house the crap teams (you watch against Kent, we are gonna do it skrong) but when we run into a defense that can ball he has no clue how to find a way. Carlos Hyde running wild? Sweet let's run a Qb draw! Can't stop the blitz? YeSsSs 7 step drop here we come! Haven't ran the ball all night? Looks like a great time for a play action on 3rd and Bauserman.
We are so predictable. Teams should be so over whelmed with all the speed out wide that we have and yet they aren't. I would KILL for a OC like the one Texas A&M has or FSU.
Also, in an effort to ease my privileged mind I've come up with the perfect tin-foil conspiracy explaining the B1G's struggles as of late.
In an effort to extend their grimy reach FURTHER than the subliminal (and not so much) degradation of the B1G brand, ESPN and its affiliates have enlisted broadcast personal to place Belechickian level taps/spies/probes on all B1G sidelines streamed directly into the booths of their opponents.
Surely that's the only way the conference can be so goddamn sad right now.
A little 5 yard curl or slant to a TE would have gone a long way in keeping their LBs honest. Once they realized they didn't have to cover the middle of the field, it was a mad house. I know Urban doesn't like throwing to he middle of the field, but sometimes you have to take what's given to you. Not a single shot all game inside the hashes, they played right into Va. Techs game. Out coached big time in this one.
"They did something we didn't prepare for" translation- we got outcoached
Offense struggled, mostly because of the line and lack of running game. Play action was WTF worthy. Why? We couldn't run, so why would they fall for play action? Oh they didn't? Let's keep trying anyways. Did we do power I one time? Slants seemed successful when ran. Where was Devin Smith in this gameplan? They were begging us to go deep, and we did, but we did to Corey Smith, who had at least two HUGE drops. One was a TD.
Just a few thoughts....
A. After starting out 24-0, Urban Meyer is now 1-3 in his last four games at Ohio State.
B. The defense was schizophrenic, forcing 10 TFL's and 3 turnovers, but allowing Va Tech to convert 10 of 18 third downs, including seven of at least five yards.
C. Despite having three plays of 40 or more yards and scoring three touchdowns, the offense looked awful - the worst since Miami in 2011.
D. The special teams? Two missed FG's, a shanked punt, a kick-off out of bounds, a late hit, no quality returns. Hardly special.
E. Quite frankly, Ohio State looked intimidated by Va Tech - not just the players, but also the coaching staff.
The Buckeyes have just not been the same team since that loss to Michigan State last year in the Championship game. They were a red-hot, top 5 team poised for a spot in the National Championship. Once that balloon got popped, they have just been able to rebound. Its the same deal with what Northwestern is going through (since the loss last year to OSU).
The team has played flat, uninspired, and a bit scared the last 3 games. They got punched in the mouth and are tip-toeing around.
To really get into it, they haven't looked quite right since the 2nd half of the Illinois game. It was a slow bleed up to the scUM game and then things got out of control after that.
Blows my mind that there isn't a single unit or player that on our team that other teams fear nationally. This is very un-Buckeye-like.
