I never knew you cared so much.

PastyStoole;n222818 said:Not trying to change topics or anything, but I have a question about female Vulcans like the one in your avatar as it relates to Pon Farr. (That's the mating frenzy that Vulcans go into every 7 years, for those not familiar with Star Trek episode #30, "Amok Time"). As you'll recall, it's just Spock who gets this every-seventh-year viagrafied sex-crazed hard-on. What about the females? It seems a little sexist that they're simply just waiting around for their mate to get horny. Is there a phase they go through where they take on the vulcan version of the football team?
Also, what about the new gay Spock in the current Star Trek movies? (I think we can all safely agree that that dude is about as gay as a cock-flavored lollipop). Does he go into these sex-crazed frenzies too? I mean, if they have bath houses on the Vulcan planet they must be virtually floating in their own ejaculate. Those dudes are horny enough already, I can't imagine what things would be like if they could only have their indiscriminate, anonymous, unprotected sex every 7 years.
Interesting to think about.

PastyStoole;n223042 said:You bring up a good possible explanation that probably deserves further discussion. But what do you make of this cryptic exchange between Kirk and Spock in the last movie, Into Darkness:
Spock: Captain, I have a secret I need to tell you.
Kirk: What is it, Spock?
Spock: I'm not heterosexual.
Kirk: Yeah. Now what's the secret, Spock? Get to it!
You may actually be thinking about Mr. Sulu from the original series. Well known homo activist, obviously, but his character may have been batting for the Bruce's Hair Salon Rec D League team too. Consider this:
You'll recall in episode #44, Our Bold Galaxy, the Enterprise returns to our Galaxy to explore several planets. Spock, Kirk, Checkov and Sulu all go to separate planets in the Milky Way to live and settle for a while and see if they can inhabit them. We see Spock fighting the extreme cold of Jupiter, not successfully but persistently. Kirk establishes a homestead on Mars and begins living there successfully. Checkov lands on Saturn, immediately finds it unihabitable and returns to the ship. Meanwhile, the scene switches back to Sulu, who has successfully built a farm and is now plowing Uranus in an attempt to grow food there. Over and over the scene switches back to Sulu plowing Uranus. But around the third time we see Sulu plowing Uranus, there's also one of those red-shirted dudes there from the Enterprise. He appears to be co-habitating with the guy. nttawwt I think the general consensus at most Trekky conventions is that Sulu took it up the keister, not only in real life but also in the original series.
Just some food for thought.
I definitely appreciate your commitmentVulcanAlex;n223045 said:You knwo a lot of things that I don't, or perhaps things that are not part of the TOS.

No, but it's about as original as any joke about Uranus can be. I'm glad someone is getting as much amusement out of reading it as I am writing it.Jand3k;n223256 said:You can't be coming up w/this stuff on your own!
You've got to be getting this from some weird Star Trek page on the interwebs and doing a copy/paste.
This is some of the best stuff ever written on this board.
