When is COY decided?

When is the Coach of the Year voted on-decided. I heard the other day that SOS was voting for Coach Mac and I thought that was awesome. I am slightly worried though that if Bret Bielema keeps on his torrid pace of mashing mighty SEC opponents that he will steal the award from Mac....Your thoughts.

Mac has SEC COY locked up, and it won't be close. He might not quite get national COY, but he'll get plenty of votes.

As far as I'm concerned the coach of the year is Mack. The fact that he has continued to be able to keep the team focused and winning with Harris at the helm and our horrendous offensive line speaks volumes.

At this point it would be really tough to vote against McElwain. His team was picked to finish 5th in the East and swept the conference. They are essentially one play away from being undefeated. He has also done some of this after his starting QB was suspended.

Bielema's team is starting to play the way they were expected to play and they may at best meet pre-season expectations. It took an insanely lucky play for them to beat Ole Miss. I don't see anyway Bielema beats out McElwain. I think the only real candidate is Harbaugh or the guy at Houston.

From a national perspective, Mac gets it if we beat FSU and we win the SECCG.

Harbaugh probably gets it if he wins out and we stumble against either of those teams.

But in all honesty, Malzahn should win it for his team not totally collapsing with Muschamp as part of the coaching staff.

It would have to be Mac or Harbaugh IMO. I just like to throw Bielema's name out there because everyone thought he would be fired by now. Honestly though I don't think anyone would want to play them right now.

This is basically the same season Bielema had last season. Close strong but start off $hitting the bed. No way Bielema gets it, the whole season is taken into account, not just the second half.

I think Mac takes it if he beats FSU or Bama but probably misses out if we were to lose both. Dabo will get some love but his team was expected to be good so what he's done isn't exactly crazy. Harbaugh will give Mac a run if he can find a way to beat Ohio State considering they were supposed to be bad also.

I agree that the whole season should get taken into account, but I think some of the people who vote for these things are like 5 year olds with ADD

Bielema won't get it because they underachieved this season. Sure they are playing well now, but as others have said before, they choked away their season back in September and are just as good as they were last year. If the same thing happens next year, then the pig fans won't be so supportive.

Mac will be the SEC COY. If we beat FSU or BAMA he should win National COY. Harbaugh has two losses already and plays in the Big 10

I honestly can't think of a scenario where Mac doesn't get it. There's no one in front of him who's overcome what he has to make his team successful.
