Notice I said who is more at fault, not necessarily who is at total fault for our loss.

Name and town if you wish to opine.

I'm putting it on the offense. Defense came out and got a turnover the first possession of the 2nd half, offense played conservative and took their foot off the gas. Everything after that was the snowball rolling down the hill. Not simply calling a QB sneak on 3rd & short was the first of many mistakes.

Coaches. The players deserve only minimal blame imo. If we ran the same game plan in the second half as the 1st we win in a blowout. They scewed up and blew the game.

This defense was supposed to be one of the best in the country, and just fell apart. We gave up 35 points in a half. We had 21 points against a respectable team. That ain't great but we never expected that much out of the offense. It is clear the TN D dramatically changed things up and blew up the honeymoon for Appleby.

Also, the special teams should have honorable mention in the poll. 2 Fair catches on the one yd line, and a fumble - penalties on punts, kick off, etc. That didn't help.

OC specifically with the DBs pulling up the rear. DBs dont have the same excuse linemen and them have for fatigue causing the breakdowns.

The defense. No way that lousy offense of UT's should have been able to overcome a 21 point deficit. Collins lays an egg everytime we face a Top 25 team.

That said, Nuss channeled his inner Mushchamp in the second half. Let's not forget the special teams pinning us back against the wall all game, as well.

It was a great team effort.

Agree with the coaches and should be an option in the poll. Evidently Ducks don't need to pull trucks, they just need to run down the sideline WFO while our DB's have their thumbs up their rectums.

The key issue is what matters more - giving up a bunch of yards/points, or not gaining any yards/points. You can win (or tie) a game without gaining any yards/points, but you can never win by giving up yards/points. Therefore, I believe responsibility for the loss is on the defensive unit.

TN didn't make us just throw 2 frickin short passes in the 3rd quarter. That is on the OC.

Offensive coaching. We torched TN with the deep ball throughout the first half and never went back to it. The secondary had some abysmal brain farts in the second half but they were on the field a lot too. I blame this more on coach Nuss for abandoning the game plan and trying to run out the clock at the start of the second half..

The defensive coaches are to blame as well. Terrible game plan playing contain all game. Tenn figured out how to beat it and we just kept it up. Should have blitzed more often and mixed it up. Just as dumn as the offensive coaching. Dang this is a bad loss to accept

Personally, I blame the offense, defense, special teams, and coaches.

Blame defense and offensive play calling in the 2nd half. Appleby did quite well with the plays called for him.

Defense. Everyone knew at the beginning of the season if we were going to win anything this season it would be on the backs of the defense. They gave up 35 points in a half, plain and simple. But offense obviously melted down as well only having 11 yards in the second half well into the 4th qtr and 0 points.

The coaches are at fault. They put the players in a lose lose position with their playcalling. Go 3 and out 6 straight times leads to tired defensive players. Not letting your QB do what he was doing well in the first half doesn't help either.

I think its on all of them. They went into the half feeling full of themselves and not to mention all the yacking this week. Grow up and let your play be your talking. Nuss, when aggressively calling plays and winning, keep doing it.

It's not the offense's fault that the defense got humiliated. The defense wasn't tired. Tennessee only had one possession in the second half that was more than 4 plays. While we were going 3 and out, they were scoring touchdowns in 3 plays.

They ran 1 more play than we did in the second half.

Good point. No fatigue excuse at all looking at that.
