Some days you wake up and wonder what the hell happened overnight.

Who suddenly decided that we all ought to use “pods” to distribute automatic dishwashing and clothes washing detergent? Setting aside for just a moment the insane reality that some moronic kids and maybe adults have tried eating them, there is absolutely no way they make a drop of sense.

Was it so difficult for living, breathing human beings to pour the right amount? Dishwashers have that little cup anyway. Dumb! Clothes washers need varying amounts depending on the load size & dirt etc. So you’ve got to decide 1, 2 or 3 pods rather than just measuring the right amount. Dumber!

And it wasn’t just some innovation that Proctor & Gamble or whoever introduced as a differentiating product. It’s like they all had a meeting and voted “Pods”. That’s not free market capitalism. That’s collusion or, worse, conspiracy. Publix has store brand pods. Why?

It’s insane, stupid, more expensive and my wife keeps buying them despite my crystal clear explanations as to why not to buy them. Which is the actual issue.

    Ok. I’m done. For now.

Thank you, Ox, for helping to preserve my marriage. She otherwise pretty freaking great and we’ve got 30 years invested.

Gave me a forum to rant so I don’t rant at her (over something obviously inconsequential.)

Thank Gawd, I thought you were paying him for some Cuckhold work or something.

Of course, since all oxes are castrated you wouldn't have to worry about him inseminating your woman.

Pods are clean and easy. I suppose I could save about ten bucks a year if we bought non-pod detergent. At this point in my life though I gladly spend a couple extra bucks on stuff like this. BTW I'm talking about the dishwasher, not the laundry. I have an he machine as I'm sure most of you do and I had to have it fixed last year when the support mechanism for the tub gave out. The mechanics said hands down the biggest thing people do to screw up their washer is put in too much detergent. You only need about a quarter of a cap for a full load of normal laundry. Most people put in 2-4 times the required amount.

Pods for the dishwasher are phenomenal because they have some chemical in them that fights hard water stains...will never go back.

I still own manual "dumb" washer and dryer bc they last forever and still work. They are not HE...we'll never use pods for this and still measure out the liquid or powder manually.

You know you can still buy liquid and powdered detergent, right? It's not P&G's fault that your wife finds pods to be more convenient.

I was thinking that they pods might have some advantage by having a mix of ingredients that would work better somehow. A brief search shows this not to be correct. If you can measure correctly pods are worthless.

Sell the washing machine, dryer and dishwasher immediately.

Get her a wash board and tub, a clothes line and a dish drainer. Tell her to make her own soap.

She can do it all manually and save even more money, when she gets through making your sandwich.

Why dafuq should I care what my wife buys to clean the dishes or do the laundry? As long as it gets done, she can use whatever the hell she wants. Does your wife b*tch about what kind of oil you put in the lawnmower?
