Let's just say for the sake of argument that the backups are actually that bad. Let's say they're turnover machines even in practice. Let's just say that if we threw them out there we would have lost 45-0 tonight with 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Let's just say that because that is what Mac is essentially telling us.

So as head coach when do you let the fans see what you see? Do you do it against FAU and risk losing to an FCS team at home. Do you risk getting blown out at home against your biggest rival? Do you do it against 'bama on a national stage ? Put your HC hat on. The only reason you are putting the backups in is to let the fans see just how bad they are. Does that make sense?

The backups are
1) Jacob Guy, a walk-on that played on the scout team last year.
2) Josh Grady, a 6' 0" transfer from Vandy who in his 4 year career there was 3-7 for 27 yards and two interceptions. Oh and they moved him to receiver in his final year.

So which of those two studs do you start in place of Treon. As horrible as Treon is those two could quite possibly be worse.

I think we are just screwed guys.

All I know is we scored ZERO offensive points tonight. He had receivers open all night, i don't know if he realizes how bad he is or not

I'll probably get bashed for saying this but at this point I don't see Mac as the long term solution at UF. Mac has gotten very lucky this year and should be 6-6 right now but got lucky in the TN game when Callaway almost slipped and ended up scoring, Ole Miss didn't show up to play, should have lost to UK, Vandy could have beaten us and FAU should have.

He has not recruited very well on offense as of right now and I think this game hurt us for Franks and NCM. He's done nothing to help this oline in recruiting this year either

This is nothing more than 2012 all over again I don't think Mac is a very good coach there is a reason why he helped pay his way to UF look at CSU this year he knew he nended out before AD see that he wasn't that good. Muschamp had the same players minus the best player the last 2 year in Callaway and he still has managed to do better than Mac. He's no genius on offense like people thought. He had a 5* rb at a mid major and looked decent, at the end of he day he was still 22-17 at CSU which is terrible. He will get a pass next year when we win 7-8 games then another the follow year when win another 7-8 games. If I were Foley I'd see the writing on the wall and fire him the minute Chip gets fired from Philly and hire him. Ive seen nothing that tells me that Mac is an elite coach. At best he's Mark Richt someone who will find a way to win games but never a title.

The recruiting sites show Franks as 6'6 220lbs

I was referring to Rivals, which has him at 6'6" and 203 lbs. That's beanpole range. I've read elsewhere the kid needs to add a good amount of muscle to be able to play at the next level without the risk of being broken in half.

Del Rio is not a true freshman. Frank's doesnt look close to being ready IMO.

Franks doesn't look ready to me either. He needs to work on his footwork. Until that gets settled he won't see the field. Del Rio WILL be the day one starter next year. I don't know if he will be any good. However, he is already better than Treon.

I have not read anything by anyone saying the backups are great. People are just asking can they be any worse. We were humiliated at home 27 to 2. So we try one of the backups and we lose 45 to 2. Maybe it's just me, but I'm would not be that much more humiliated. And at least we tried something. It kind of like I'd rather strike out swinging than just watching the ball whiz by me over the plate.

Dude, props for having stones to post this, you're going to get flamed to death for it.

I think Mac is good and is the long term solution here, but his game management has been awful at times, some of his decisions have been and continue to be baffling, and recruiting has been shaky so far. I view it as a work in progress from both him and us, but he really needs to make some changes this week. We all know Alabama is going to steamroll us, so take some chances, change some things up, and try and find something to get excited about. Something's got to change.

Brindise was a ****ty practice player, but played much better in games. He would have never been given a chance by Chimp or Mac. Anyone think Brindise was 10x better than Treon? Got to give Guy a chance at some point. Could've put him in the 4th quarter tonight and see what he does in a game, even if it was garbage time.

So what the **** are you going to do, Coach Threat, if Treon breaks his ankle or collar bone? Just throw the towel out there and say, "Awe shhit, I quit."?

What work in progress do I need to do. Do I need to accept that we will never win another championship or something? What has he done dif this year than last besides win very ugly games? Our offense is worse than any of the year Muschamp was here, we found ways to lose last year we should have won 10 games last year but didn't get the bounces to go our way. If you were in jail and could only hear about the games you'd think Muschamp was still on the sidelines. Dude is stubborn just like Muschamp was, Muschamp stuck with Driskel to long now Mac is sticking with Treon. Mac is nor a good coach and time will continue to show it.

And for the record I never like Muschamp as a hire either even after his 11 win season

I don't know coach NV. I haven't seen the two backup studs practice so I don't know which is the lesser of two evils. But apparently you have. So why don't you enlighten us.

C'mon, man. We're friggin 10-2 in a year when most of us would have been happy slipping into bowl eligibility. Have we been lucky? Yes. In many ways. Does this season feel a bit like 2012? In some ways, yes.

Re recruiting: When Mac was hired last year, our class was ranked near 100 and in a very short time he pulled together a consensus top 25 class. We're consensus top 15 now and I'd bet a sizable sum we finish in the top 5 given all the talent we're in play for. I'd like to see more OLs in this class, but this is a crappy year for OLs in FL. We're in play for several big time DLs and WRs.

Your criticisms of his tenure at CSU make no sense. He inherited a dumpster fire in a remote college football outpost and made steady progress his entire tenure there, including developing a top tier QB. Just look at how long CU has struggled to see how hard it is to win in Colorado.

There have been frustrating moments and head-scratching decisions this season, but what Mac has accomplished this year, in his first year while installing new systems, with an awful OL while losing our stud QB is nothing short of miraculous.

Mac has the pedigree and all the intangibles to win a bunch of games for us. Tonight's disaster against the Clowns stings, but the future is still very bright. Step back and gain a little perspective.

I haven't seen hem either but I sure as hell saw what little we did with Treon and would have given something else a try. I'm not trying to be a dick to you but you asked us to put our coaching hats on and kinda did it in a condescending way.

It's not very hard to pull a top 25 recruiting class go look at the #25 team on any site and you will see its not that hard. If Mac was a smart offensive coach he should be able to do better than the last 4 games against lesser teams instead we have looked like pure Dookie in a toilet and it's gotten worse each week and will probably look even worse next week. Dude is a clown and 2 years from now everyone will want him gone. I want him gone already because I see right through him. He's a fraud
