Sometimes you just have to face the facts. And the facts are the backups are a walk-on who couldn't make it off the scout team and transfer that got cut by Vandy. They most definitely could be worse than Treon which is very sad indeed.
Yeah, neither one of them could not score more than zero points. It could be sooooo much worse.

Hey I expected it to take years to recover from Mustank and I think we are seeing that may take until 2017 to fully recover. We are lucky to have gotten the wins we have this season considering the o line and QB debacle AND kicking debacle. Plus it looks like we have at least one assistant coach that needs to be shown the door.
But I'm happy for the 10 wins and damn happy that the offense is at least trying to be an offense and not a TOP accumulator. I'l reserve judgment on Mac and Nuss until I see what they do with a real QB but I have faith it will be good.

Oh and just to set the record straight. if Treon were to break an ankle I would quietly break into my happy dance.
This is what I hate seeing people say, your waiting to holding judgement until you see what they can do with a real Qb... really why not see what he can do with an average Qb? Any coach can look good with a real Qb look at Jimbo with a real Qb he won a title when he has an average Qb he's average as a coach. I think great coaches can work wit whatever they are dealt. Look at NE anytime Brady has went down they don't skip a beat. Same wth Meyer last year he made it work with whoever he had. Treon is terrible I get the but to me if Mac was elite he should have designed a package to move the ball by now instead he keeps tying to put a round peg in a square hole. He don't seem to ajust very well when things go wrong that's why we've tried and failed with the same thing 4 weeks in a row

Well tell me something that Treon does well and let's see what we can do with him. We have our O line not NE's BTW. And as much as Meyer crowed about how he changed the offense to the players strengths he had players that had actual strengths. So what can Treon do so we can design an offense around him.

Gimme a break. There was more protection tonight than in many recent games. Treon is simply not a good QB. No part of his game is suited for big time college football. We can do better.
Actually his running is, but for some unfathomable reason the coaches don't let him run more than 2-3 times a game.

If all you got is a QB that runs and no threat of passing it's pretty easy to defend. Plus there is that nagging possibility that he gets hurt. So for that reason I'm all for him running.

Treon is good at running with the ball. Personally I'd like to see the wildcat and Qb read involved on our offense. Treon is no worse than Nick Marshall and he did it at Auburn. Make the defense worry about his running yo set up the throwing.

Whoa, kid..you're wading in some deep stuff here. Pretty soon you will be told to "drink bleach" or "shoot yourself in the face". That's what happened when I criticized Chump's hire in the first year.

I'm conflicted on this....... Got to give Mac credit for getting us to a 10 win season when almost no one saw that possibility but with the credit comes the blame after the last 4 games. Even though we won 3 of those 4, anyone not wearing orange and blue glasses could see that our offense was regressing. This just didn't show up last night out of no where!
My questions are: If Mac is an offensive wiz, why isn't he making adjustments to the game plan when the results are constantly sub-par? Why hasn't he given someone else a few snaps or series to see what happens? Why be so stubborn in the face of obvious suckage on offense?

I can handle defeats but I can't handle humiliation and make no mistake, we were humiliated Sat. night!
Even though I expected to lose the game, I expected us to put up a fight and 27-2 doesn't look or feel like a fair game.

It's funny that several of you said when FSU got ahead 3-0, that the game was over....... sadly you were right!

Oh, it's been frustrating all right. I get the opinion that Treon, ALONG with Hardin has had a nervous breakdown. There were receivers running open all over the field, all night. It's a scary thing to have him in the game because you have no hope of overcoming any deficit.

I think it is obvious nobody else is prepared (or has been prepared) to play QB. Mac said it's Treon. It reminds me of what Lincoln said when the Army of the Potomac was in total disarray because of disastrous generalship. When pressured to replace the present bozo, Lincoln asked who they wanted to replace him with they responded, "anybody." Lincoln said, "anybody might be alright with you but I must have 'somebody'.

I'm forced at this point to accept that Mac knows best......

Let's just say for the sake of argument that the backups are actually that bad. Let's say they're turnover machines even in practice. Let's just say that if we threw them out there we would have lost 45-0 tonight with 4 interceptions and 2 fumbles. Let's just say that because that is what Mac is essentially telling us.

So as head coach when do you let the fans see what you see? Do you do it against FAU and risk losing to an FCS team at home. Do you risk getting blown out at home against your biggest rival? Do you do it against 'bama on a national stage ? Put your HC hat on. The only reason you are putting the backups in is to let the fans see just how bad they are. Does that make sense?

The backups are
1) Jacob Guy, a walk-on that played on the scout team last year.
2) Josh Grady, a 6' 0" transfer from Vandy who in his 4 year career there was 3-7 for 27 yards and two interceptions. Oh and they moved him to receiver in his final year.

So which of those two studs do you start in place of Treon. As horrible as Treon is those two could quite possibly be worse.

I think we are just screwed guys.
I think this is exactly why we continue to see Treon. WM created this dumpster and Will Grier set fire to it. But let's bash Treon and Mac for fun.

Dear Friends,
Perhaps Mac keeps Harden and Harris in to sell some recruits on how bad we need them, and that they could play right away?
Just a thought.

I'll probably get bashed for saying this but at this point I don't see Mac as the long term solution at UF. Mac has gotten very lucky this year and should be 6-6 right now but got lucky in the TN game when Callaway almost slipped and ended up scoring, Ole Miss didn't show up to play, should have lost to UK, Vandy could have beaten us and FAU should have.

He has not recruited very well on offense as of right now and I think this game hurt us for Franks and NCM. He's done nothing to help this oline in recruiting this year either

This is nothing more than 2012 all over again I don't think Mac is a very good coach there is a reason why he helped pay his way to UF look at CSU this year he knew he nended out before AD see that he wasn't that good. Muschamp had the same players minus the best player the last 2 year in Callaway and he still has managed to do better than Mac. He's no genius on offense like people thought. He had a 5* rb at a mid major and looked decent, at the end of he day he was still 22-17 at CSU which is terrible. He will get a pass next year when we win 7-8 games then another the follow year when win another 7-8 games. If I were Foley I'd see the writing on the wall and fire him the minute Chip gets fired from Philly and hire him. Ive seen nothing that tells me that Mac is an elite coach. At best he's Mark Richt someone who will find a way to win games but never a title.
Ding, Ding, Ding, we have a winner.
I said in the chatterbox last night that Mac has some game management issues and the biggest is assessing the overall situation. It was obvious that the passing game so ineffective so why not just run the ball 80% of the time? The running game was somewhat effective in the first half and we wasted down after down trying to pass against the best secondary in the country.....why? Yes I know they would stack the box but it would have caused them to have to substitute and probably tire them out.....Would we have scored much? No, probably not but we would have had a better chance at hitting a seam every now and then, and possibly use a couple of play action passes down the field, and more likely to score IMO, while keeping the ball away from them. In other words keep them to 10-13 points and not gassing our defense late in the game....does GT ring a bell anyone? There is NO WAY IN HELL Treon should have throw more than 10-12 passes last night. It should have been obvious from the middle of the 2nd quarter to anyone that knows anything about football it was our only chance to stay in the game and possibly win it at the end. What we saw last night was possibly one of the worst called offensive games in my time of watching UF football.....and yes even worse than anything we saw from Muschamp.

From the fealing I read on this board, I may try to host a Gator Gathering next sat on the Tegan sea at the foot of the mountains. Warm spice wine, with rum, local cake, and music. Alot more fun than watching the "game" next sat. Any one want to fly over? I ll get you from the airport in Munich.

I saw it live. You are correct.
I didn't have to see it live. For every sack he dodged there was 2 others that he held the ball too long and got sacked. The offensive line did a decent job tonight from where I sat, how did they seem to you at the game...Why didn't we stay run heavy when it looked like we were getting 3 or 4 yards per carry in the first 2 quarters?

Okay, everyone take a deep breath. In......out......

Mac wasn't dealt a good hand this year, we all knew it. No OL, and Grier getting suspended was the nail in the coffin of any real chance we had, and that's something you can't pin on Mac. Calling for his firing at this point is lunacy. NO college coach gets judged on his first year, even if they lose every game - and we won 10 of them. Obviously he isn't getting fired, so continuing to float the idea out there is only going to create a lot of useless drama and name calling. It's a waste of bandwidth.

As far as Treon, it's probably just a combination of disastrous QB's behind him combined with a loyalty that Mac feels he needs to show. Maybe he feels benching him will upset the team, who knows?

I still feel the program is headed in the right direction.

It's not very hard to pull a top 25 recruiting class go look at the #25 team on any site and you will see its not that hard. If Mac was a smart offensive coach he should be able to do better than the last 4 games against lesser teams instead we have looked like pure Dookie in a toilet and it's gotten worse each week and will probably look even worse next week. Dude is a clown and 2 years from now everyone will want him gone. I want him gone already because I see right through him. He's a fraud

You must be typing this from moms basement....your clueless.
