True freshmen don't need to be playing in this conference. That leaves Del Rio, and Guy behind the GT...
Guy isn't on the depth chart. Guy has never been on the depth chart. You need to face reality.

And no "GT" is coming.

there's no chance that Treon would be better than the 3 of them despite what Mrs.Harris(Law) thinks.

Been a Grier fan way longer than you. I'm just also able to realize when Grier or Treon (or KT or the freshmen RBs) can't perform behind our pile of garbage OL, that it isn't their fault. It's also not the "fault" of the freshmen OL, they are doing the best they can. All of them, including Sharpe, should be pumping iron and watching upperclassmen play.

That being said, Treon is in full Driskel mode. I doubt he recovers.

You Treon hugger, the offensive line has been giving double the time that they were when Grier was playing.....We are getting a graduate transfer, Mac is not going to allow QB suckage to spill over into next year. We need someone to get us through the first 6 games. If that someone is lighting the world on fire then let them play out the season, if not practice will have knocked the rust off of WG and we'll put him in there to do what he does.

Wait, is Law saying Treon is mentally finished, yet also saying he's fine if we had a decent Oline and we don't need any new QBs in the same thread? I'm confused...cause that's what it seems like he's saying. I agree with Crete on this one. We do NEED a quality QB on our roster next year that isn't a true Freshman. JMac isn't going to allow the offense to wallow in tar for 6 games with Treon at QB. No way he lets next season get here with Treon as our only option. No way!

Short of sending Treon up in rocket that crashes and then Six Million Dollar Man-ing him into faster, stronger, better, I don't know that Mac and Nuss can get much more out of him next year. I appreciate his effort and him being here, but I'm just not optimistic based on his play and decision making from last year to now.

Where Grier is concerned, two factors will likely be part or parts of his decision making process: 1) how badly he wants to lead this team again and 2) what avenue he and his camp thinks will get him the best shot for a draft spot. Personally, I hope 1) is the heavier of the two, as he was obviously on the way to be a great player and leader. As for the competition he will face, if it is Treon and a group of transfers (if we whiff in recruiting the position, which I hope doesn't happen) he should definitely stay. If we are lucky enough to get Frank's, Eason, or both, it may throw him up in the air, though I hope the competition won't decide for him. I'm all about the iron sharpening iron and the concept of BIG TEAM/ little me even if that isn't as popular today as it might once have been. He'll show us exactly what he is made of soon enough. Whether he, me, or anyone else thinks the NCAA rule is unfair, I think making up for the mistake and not letting your teammates down is as important for him as it is them.

Many of you have said parts or all of the same thing as I did. I appreciate the POV's and know as about everyone else does that we don't need to start a new season with the SOS on offense and especially from the QB position. I believe Mac knows this as well. Feel like the verbal massage he gave Treon after FSU was about finishing this year and not necessarily about starting the next.

If Grier stays and Eason commits, that's enough to switch positions for Treon....if you think he can play another position. If not, let him transfer. Otherwise he's taking snaps away from the future

No, Nav. Try to keep up. The OL is why Grier couldn't score vs. Kintucky, most of the game vs. Tinerc, and Mizzu also. And the reason some toolbags said Taylor couldn't run. Two different points.

Well, it looks like Grier has the better release of the two. Probably quicker decision maker...

Ok, cause it seemed like you were trying to defend Treon's horrible play by blaming the Oline. Then also said we wouldn't get a GT. Sounded like you were saying we didn't need a GT because Treon would do fine behind a decent Oline. You're all over the place lately. I can't pin down your mood.

No, Treon is shellshocked and he's a running QB. I don't like any running QBs. Qbs should pass, running backs to run, receivers should catch. If your offense doesn't do that, you don't have an offense. If you build your offense around Qbs who run, WRs who block or running backs that smurf, you don't have an offense.

I have said it isn't (completely) Treon's fault the O sucks. The O sucks because we were left with too few OL to even practice in the spring. I just checked the depth charts. We are still the only team in the SEC with two true freshmen OL and the OL with the fewest starting upper classmen. It is what it is.

No, I'm not all over the place. I have always said I preferred Grier, two years ago. I said Grier would win this year too. Every time.

You're all over the place because you listen to Cementheads or Dan who claim I'm Mrs. Treon. Apparently if you think that Grier is the reason Grier got banned, you are Mrs. Treon.

Dan: I'm "depressed" because I'm not going to be suicidal if we lose, like the rest of you? OK.....

That doesn't surprise me...you're an idiot and you always have been.

His situation is ENTIRELY DIFFERENT from a redshirt player. The UF COACHES determine if a kid will redshirt or not and THE UF COACHES can choose to put on or pull off a player the redshirt any time they like. The UF COACHES can put a potential redshirt candidate into a game at any time THEY CHOOSE if that player is needed because: other player(s) in front of the redshirt candidate at a particular position get hurt/fail out of school/quit the team/etc. That is why a a redshirt isn't typically finalized until the end of the season...if the coach needs to burn the redshirt the last week of the season for any reason he can CHOOSE to do so. THE NCAA has determined that NO MATTER how many of our QBs other than Grier get hurt/fail out/quit the team/etc. nor NO MATER HOW BADLY THE UF COACHES WANT TO PUT him into a game, Will Grier WILL NOT BE PLAYING for the remainder of this season NOR will he be playing the first 6 games of next season, plain and simple. Putting Grier on the scout team knowing that scout team players get the **** beat out of them by the scholarship players, makes no sense. You don't risk injuring and possibly ending the career of a player like Grier by putting him on the scout team. The scout team is full...full of the guys that you referenced above...guys that practice knowing they will never see the field. If you want to see Grier make a beeline for the withdrawal line from UF to transfer to another school, you want to know the quickest way to make that happen...PUT HIM ON THE SCOUT TEAM!

I'd ask you if this now makes sense to you, but I doubt it does...so I won't bother.
Does this post make you feel better? I hope so. Maybe you should be the coach since you know everything about football.

Law, I NEVER have meltdowns when we lose. I prefer to win but I just cant seem to control it. Seems we sometimes lose even when I do everything in my power to prevent it. Funny thing...mrs treon...hahaha
