Del Rio - Del Rio is nice but nothing special when it comes to throwing the ball. He isn't going to blow you away.

Appleby - is a head case due to the situation at Purdue.

Franks - Most gift physically of the quarterbacks but his footwork is atrocious.

Trask - He wasn't filler. Filler offers don't happen months before signing day. He has legit talent. Much of the video on him I can't find any more. You could tell from that video what Mac saw in him. It is the mechanics. Because they are so flawless, it allows him to put the ball where he wants it again and again. I also read a couple of articles (I'll see if I can find them again) from people who had watched him play. They said he had real touch. In the tape, he reminded me of Danny and his perfect fade throws. Now all that is nice. The fact is he didn't play much because his team ran a spread-option. I live in Jacksonville. Blaine Gabbert was practice king, electrifying people with how he played in practice. In games however, he sucked. We'll see. Trask will get a shot.

I agree Trask will get a shot. Hopefully, Del Rio or Appleby turn out to be good game managers, and his shot is next year and not this year. No matter how much raw talent Trask may have he needs a good year of practice, being coached up, and SEC side-line experience before being ready to play. That said, I am more excited about the prospect of coaching up a talented player as compared with trying to make an untalented player adequate. That certainly didn't work out well with Treon.

As much as you bitch and moan about him, you'll be his biggest fan if he wins some games for us....sadly we'll never know

Because he sucks worse than Treon.
I'm saying this in complete seriousness. I actually don't believe that. If treon was in a boat a mile out at sea and had to hit water he'd find a way to throw it to the shore, or just sit on it. It's pretty difficult to be worse than that. Seriously, the guy couldn't complete a pass against air.

You mean in practice? Appleby looked like a gamer on tape there. He just threw too many picks. Do you mean he is hesitant throwing the ball now?

What's odd is that Treon didn't start out that way. In 2014, he wasn't all-world, but he was serviceable. After the 2015 game vs uga, he looked horrible. I wonder how much of it was a mental or confidence issue. Yeah, opponents figured out how to stop him, but there were times that pressure had nothing to do with missing a wide open Callaway.

I think it was just a different style offense, more tape on him, and a coach trying to teach him how a QB is supposed to play.

Teams simply figured out you could rush 3 or 4 and get plenty of pressure. That left 7-8 laying back, which took away his ability to do anything downfield...run or pass.

Yeah but the question was between last year and this year

Word on the street is that Trash is gone with Hardin. While practicing as the third string holder with Hardin, Trash formed an intense bond and has decided to follow Hardin when he leaves.

Unfortunately, Trash, being new to football, feels guilty because he didn't know much about holding and constantly failed to put the laces out.

He's probably our 3rd string QB at this point.
