Having to go to OT at home vs. FAU is embarrassing, I don't care if Clarabelle is your QB.

No disagreement from me on that one. I do, however, think that the team was slowly crumbling down the stretch, and it was largely due to Treon's inability to complete even basic passes. The same song and dance that most of these guys have witnessed for most of the past 4-5 seasons clearly had worn on them. While it was Mac's team, he can hardly be blamed for the disaster he was left. But again, just a bad game.

As for Vanderbilt, they've played some of Spurrier and Meyer's best teams extremely tough. I think part of it is the "it's Vandy" mindset, and part of it is its typical placement on the schedule, right after the uga game. Definite hangover effect in that game. Plus Treon.

I won't excuse the Michigan game, because it was a disaster. I think the team had checked out, and I think/hope he learned a lesson with regards to allowing Seniors and draft eligible players to go into "me mode" in the lead-up to the game. Plus Treon.

The signature difference between the guy we're bashing in this thread and Mac is that under the previous regime we never appeared to have any sort of gameplan other than to run the clock and hope to win by 6. And it was every game. As J said, we may not have a complete verdict on Mac yet. But there's no comparison or debate in terms of which one actually looks like a real coach, and which one was a total clown that set our program back 5+ years.

I am pro Mac all the way, but he has to own some of the disaster of the last FIVE games. The approach to the bowl game and the results were probably the most disappointing part of the year, with all that time to prepare, after the FAU abomination.

One thing for certain, we'll know a hell of lot more after Knoxville. I just want to see steady improvement for a change, the more the better...

Lost mine after losing to an Al Golden coached Miami team

I never believed in him but this is the game I knew for sure he wasn't going work out.

Seems everybody was against him....well, I'll admit I was still supporting him for a long time. I was a fool.

Nobody would be questioning Mac's ability had Grier not **** the bed. There's not a coach living or dead that could've done anything with a team devoid of a QB and kicker.
re: Mustank. I stopped watching games live in 2012 because the product he put on the field was putrid win or lose. Anybody who thought it was ever going to get better was living in a dream world or just enjoyed ****ty football.

Messedchomp wasn't a fit at Texas, not a fit at Florida (even with an extension), not a fit at Auburn ....
but now at South Carolina all the stars are aligned?

That 2012 defense was fun as hell to watch.

That year was like listening to nails on a chalkboard.

It was just as painful to watch us win by 3 against shytty teams as it was to lose by 3. Even worse to hear that azzlicking bulldwag claim that Gator fans didn't know anything about winning.

We should have tossed his idiotic azz in the St James along with Fooley by October of 2012.

I think we can go ahead and change the title of this thread to something Muschamp related now.

Fun? There was NOTHING fun about that era of Gator football.
Not saying the era was fun, but that defense under Quinn was tough as hell. Hard-hitting and fast to the ball.

He'll decommit again after Lamical Perine has his breakout year.
