I view Appleby as about even with del Rio. Appleby has plenty of experience. I expect him to do well, if he has to play this week.

I don't think this is even almost true.

You must not have read any of the preseason reports. Del Rio won the job primarily because of his 2+ years experience in Nuss/McElwain's system, and rightfully so. But Appleby didn't transfer to sit on the bench. He could have picked a numberof schools to play his final season. I think Del Rio definitely won the job, but it wasn't a runaway. And other than UK's sh*tty defense Del Rio hasn't exactly done much. Did you see anything tonight or against UMass that impressed you?

I'm sure. No matter what you have to have a backup. AA is awful. We lose with him behind center

if we could beat Tennessee with Treon Harris at QB we can definitely beat them with Appleby

He better get in there and truck those hicks, we're counting on him. This is why he came here.

He didn't exactly light it up at Purdue did he?

Did Del Rio light it up at Alabama or Oregon State? He played with Purdue talent at Purdue. He now has Florida talent to play with and Florida coaching. Right? Or do you think he'll perform exactly like he did at Purdue with McElwain as his coach and Calloway to throw to? You're comparing apples and oranges.

Meh, Applebees throwing was really bad tonight. It's fortunate we were playing a team that we didn't NEED to throw too much to win. I don't expect we'll need to throw a whole ton next week either. Hope Trask is ready to be the next man in line. Our batting average at keeping a QB around for long isn't exactly great.

Appleby was a gamer at Purdue also. Never got rattled from what I saw - he just tried to force the ball too much resulting in some interceptions.

Appleby did a pretty damn good job throwing the ball to the other team  If Del-Rio is out we need to hand the keys to Trask and "ride or die" with him. Who knows...he may light sh*t up!

I'm pessimistic about AA, but we really have no clue until we see him with a starting caliber O line and Callaway in the mix.

Curious to see how Mac plays it with AA. Focus on run game and manage from the start, or let him sling it around and shake off the rust.

Exactly, he was behind all the time almost at Purdue. He has much more experience than del Rio in going on the road and playing in tough places. He needs to be more efficient for UF than he was at Purdue, but he has a better cast around him and a better defense at UF.

AA is bad.

the one pass he completed should have been picked. god almighty.

Mac said they'll look at all the QBs. but he's acting like he went to the cupboard looking for peanut butter and found a pile of poo.

as someone noted, this all happened because the team wasn't able to put these jokers away by the end of the first half.
