This just sucks........ any way you look at it...... it sucks....... next year is a light year away. With home field, we would beat LSU, now we are almost guaranteed a loss!

I'm done with Foley, change the locks on the Executive Wash Room!

I think Gainesville hotels were probably fairly full Matthew weekend, plus those people probably ate. So, there's that.

Gainesville was a ghost town - I was there. Most restaurants were closed. I got a hotel room that was originally $295 for $99.

The hotels were full, but mostly with evacuees.

Gainesville lost a bundle that weekend.

Just when I think that i can not be more embarrassed by this athletic department, they prove me wrong. [/QUOTE]
Hilarious that this douchenozzle and his supporters thought he was a shoo-in for a conf commish job, but they laughed in his face and didnt even give him an interview for the MAC job. Lol. The people in the biz dont hold him in nearly as much esteem.

What a gigantic vagina.

Gimme a break with all the meltdowns from people who told me to shove it this past weekend for my supposed meltdown. THIS is exactly what I saw coming and I can't help you if you didn't see this happening earlier. Of course I could see all the way from evil Cali that this storm was going to probably pose a significant problem early in the week, but Fooley thought as late as Wednesday that there was "no reason to believe" that the game wouldn't be played on Saturday. GMAFB. Our best bet, despite the very real difficulty and logistical challenges, was to find a way to get this done last weekend. Everybody who said, "dude, its a hurricane, stop being silly," should take some of your own advice right now. Come on, its a hurricane, peoples lives are on the line. This is just a football game. There was never going to be some magic UF friendly solution to this problem.

We had a small and difficult window to keep this in our favor as much as possible but the powers that be deemed it too much or impractical, so here we are. Reality is finally slapping us upside the head with a cold slimy fish. Perhaps you guys are right and there was absolutely no way we could have pulled off the game last weekend...fine, but the result we are seeing now shouldn't surprise anyone. So now we go to BR and try to take it out on LSU. As always I wish our Gators luck and believe we can win. I apologize for even having an opinion all the way from Cali but I do have family at Jax Beach and Orange Park, not too far away. Thankfully they are doing fine, I can only hope that somehow this qualifies me to offer an opinion around here. That's all for tonight, I have to go. People are starving in Africa.

Now I"m more pissed. It's costing us money? LSU doesn't cover it since we're accommodating them? We're already losing money in the community. Way to negotiate Foley. Whom do you represent?
he represents the athletic department, not the community of Gainesville. The UAA will get their money

Back in 2003, Ron Zook took an eventual 8-5 team led by a freshman QB into Baton Rouge and beat LSU the year they won the national championship, handing them their only loss. LSU this year is not as good as the 2003 team and the Gators are not any worse. I can see UF winning this game if they get/stay healthy. The only thing Foley could have done was to refuse to fold, which means the game doesn't get played and neither team can be eligible for Atlanta. Alleva, the AD that failed miserably handling the Duke Lacrosse non-scandal, knows his team doesn't have a prayer to win out and go, so he had nothing to lose grandstanding as the knight defending Baton Rouge community monetary interests.

None of Florida's remaining SEC opponents look unbeatable. If the Gators didn't play LSU, finished 6-1 with the Vols at 6-2, everyone here would be gnashing their teeth about Foley failing to get the game played.

The slimiest part of this whole saga is LSU has been trying to leverage what could have been a natural disaster into an extra home game from the very beginning. Given their history with hurricanes, that's some shameful sh*t right there.
