We are not going to actively prune players, that being not issuing four year deals. We need to get this to be standard. Now we can and should encourage players who are not good enough to move on, we also won't be making up fake injuries either. I hear Bama does both. I have not heard too much about our analyst and if we are making some headway to be like Bama which is legal. Seems like SOS had a bunch of QB's as assistants.

It has been rumored (and possibly already verified, but I'm not sure), that Meyer's staff actually utilized Rivals.com as a safety net to make sure they were covering every potential prospect. I used to find that idea rather funny and a bit pathetic, but in hindsight it may have been rather genius given the limited staff resources.
Not sure that's as accurate as he depended on the recruiting services. He was very occupied in trying to win recruiting titles. I was friends with the assistant who pulled the recruiting reports weekly. They also monitored Gainesville Mugshots daily.

That will never be the standard because only schools like UF and Vandy do it.

The standard is whatever the elite teams are doing.

But it can be four year commitments are one of those things players want in their legal efforts. If it becomes an NCAA regulation that will somewhat level the playing field. I also want the subsidy to be normalized and not tied to other estimates.

What are you talking about? Unionization? Zero chance that works. Less than zero.

I agree that unionization is impossible, after all you can crush unions in most cases and there are plenty of players if some won't play without a union.

I am talking about suits and how to take the sting out of them. Providing health care for issues created by playing is another card to play. Surely if you are a lawyer as I think you know how to settle out of court.

That graphic is from 7 years ago. We're not even on this list now - Kentucky replaced us.

Ha! MOM on me. I'm just glad we're up there somewhere. Though it does look like we may add four more this year.

Incidentally, Ox is half right. The graphic is over a year old and doesn't include the 2016 draft. We've had 48 drafted in the first round since 1967; 46 post-2015 draft and two last year (VH3 and Neal). Alabama is at 43 with 42 post-2015 and only one first round pick last year (Ryan Kelly).
