This is no more than your rehashed "Oh how I love 2 stars" argument. Yes, if you sift through 10,000 2 stars, you will find that one that became a star. Yes, if you sift through 10,000 directional school coaches, you will find a future great one. But you will also find 9,999 that aren't any good.

The fact remains that we are, or should be (but perhaps need to admit to ourselves that we no longer are) an elite program. Bama didn't hire Saban from Toledo. They hired him after he won an NC and after he was in the NFL. Meatchicken didn't hire Harbaugh from San Diego State, they hired him after he won a Super Bowl.

Keep shining those turds all you want. The only qualifying requirement on their resume is that they made less than a decent plumber at their last job. Are they as good as anyone else in that price range, maybe. Maybe not. I just don't think we need to shopping in that price range much and certainly not for 5 of our 9 coaches.

I hope someone burns down Fooley's house.

You are obviously happy with us being a lower tier school. I hope you have precious few in your corner.

Again, if your point is valid then there is no reason to exaggerate or embellish.

I have never made a "oh how I love two stars argument". You simply made that up and threw it in as an attempt to invalidate my point.

Your math is way off on the quality of lower tier coaches. Pick any coach that you think is a good coach and look at their resume. I guarantee that the vast majority of them worked at a lower tier school. It's simply reality that almost all coaches start at a lower tier school and work their way up.

You are wrong and you refuse to admit it.

Not that I think he will stick with his commitment there; I wouldnt expect him to consider us. We have a log jam at RB

Meh if he's the best back in the country, I don't think he will shy away from Perine, Davis and Lemons

He's #3 on Rivals, behind Z. White (no commitment yet) from NC and Cook2 (FSU). #4 RB B. Snead is from Seffner/Armwood and is committed to the bucknuts. The #5 RB (TJ Pledger) is at IMG (no commitment).

The myth of UF not paying its coaches persists despite the facts proving otherwise!! That mantra sure must be powerful b/c it's repeated over and over and over. It's like that myth has a life of its own.

As I've posted and linked before, USA Today did a nation-wide survey on this precise topic about a year ago. They published the article on that interweb thing, and all the data is there for everyone to see, download, analyze, etc. It showed UF was in the top 7 - 10 in the country re: compensation to its assistant football coaches. If UF has changed its philosophy in the last year, it'd be good to see that data.

I hope everyone has a great rest of the day. Peace.

That's great except we don't play against the country. We play against the SEC and F$U and they pay more.

Again, the post was in response to someone claiming that you can't find talented coaches at small schools. I'm not going off topic no matter how hard you try.

You know what, you are right. You are a good fan. Hats off to you.

No, Ive seen his posts, and Ive seen him state a few times that he doesn't have a huge issue with an every now and then from the lower tier levels. His concern and irritation is because he feels we have been dipping into that area far too often; and honestly I agree with him on that point, though I'm not freaking out about it.
Like this post two pages back:
I dont know either of course, but Im pretty good at seeing trends. im also good at generalities like you dont find the best coaches at FIU, FAU, UCF or North Texas, because they are FAU and North Texas.
Or this
So, those who opined that our next coaches were coming from FIU/FAU were right again. It's funny that someone said "this is exactly the type of coach the venter's wanted" when it's exactly the kind of geographic school coach that we said we didn't want......
Do I think he might be ok? Maybe? Is he a proven coach, no. Hell, he isn't even a proven lower division coach. Would Bammer or OSU hire guys like these? Of course not. Training wheels U....
It's too bad. I was trying to convince myself the Donkey Show had a chance. As always, one step forward, two steps back with this crew. Two more fvkking geographic school asst coaches and Nord and Nusschamp still dialing up their joke gameplans.
.
Or this
Yup, we are the University of Directional School Florida. We gobble up those shytty coaches from FAU, EKU, and NT.When all those top coaches and NFL guys who were on the line laugh at our offers.

I'm not saying that the Donkey repeats himself but I am saying the Donkey repeats himself.

It's not my position that UF football doesn't have a large payroll. It may be the highest for all I know. My point is, we could have been investing a couple million more over the last few years if not for the sweet deal Muschamp signed.

You can't argue against the fact that we're handicapped, in a manner of speaking and it doesn't take a USA Today article to come to that conclusion.

Still think he is the best back in the country. Kid is electric.
