I appreciate his dedication and all, but if I were a college football player at the University of Florida I can guarantee you I'd be out looking for girls and attending the occasional party in the off season. There is room for both.

Because I don't think the team quit on him? Solid logic, bro.

I'm all for canning Mac if we have another 80+ offense. Go spread your lies elsewhere :bananawave:
That would certainly be a good reason but he's not going anywhere for awhile regardless.

I wasn't aware we had a weight room and I'm just glad someone's in it.
It seems like these guys hate the idea of "volunteer" training all year around. I'm definitely shocked. Kudos to Clayton but I just don't get the Twitter thing.

Nobody else reads this as a bad thing that his teammates are so unfocused that he has to call them out on Twitter? Seems concerning to me.

Given the mass amounts of negativity on here, I'm shocked we made it to page 2 without this being the direction of the topic (before spiraling out of control into Mac, his teeth, Nuss, etc).
I'll throw my two cents in for firing Nuss :). However, I don't think he's going anywhere either. He and Mac seemed joined at the hip. As far as "voluntary" off season workouts are concerned, it takes a special dedication and that is a minority trait possessed by the greats, not the average practice hating "Jimmys and Joes." These have to be driven to the "trough" with a ball and chain and forced to drink.

Working out in the weight room together, as a team, would certainly strengthen camaraderie ... like a tsunami wave of empowered OLs, DLs, LBs. We need some fierceness in all these guys,

Dude...you just jinxed the hell out of us. :eek3:

No way. Crete is crafty. We could use a robbery or some other type of criminal mischief. We need a healthy mix of choir boys and thugs to return to the promised land.

I'd like to personally apologize for disappointing you.
You were out whoring around and drinking 20-30 crappy light beer when you should have been working out.

Its not the weight room he was talking about, its the waiting room. They need to go to the hospital for a shot after dipping into the 3am bar flies.

Everyone else that thinks they are an NFL prospect now at UAL, UGa, UTx etc are working hard in the off season. If you seriously view yourself as an NFL prospect you must be doing that too. So there is self interest to go along with team interest and if you are not working out hard in the off seaosn, you don't take yourself seriously as a pro prospect.

You don't think those kids at other schools are out having fun, partying, chasing girls in the summer time?
Kids will be kids - not all them are out there :bandit:, boozing it up, and chasing some strange, but I suspect a significant contingent are trying at the very least.

I somehow have the feeling players at schools like Bama and Michigan etc. with their head coaches now get monitored for attending weightlifting sessions etc. in the offseason even if that isn't really supposed to be monitored according to the rules. I know they will still party some but I bet there is big pressure to be there on certain days at certain times.

I see it as a mixed message... I certainly don't think it is a good thing that he had to call them out on twitter, but I do think it is a good thing that we have a player showing the leadership to call them out. Now CC may be doing the same thing just not on twitter or others may be doing that and maybe AC was just pissed because somebody else got a girl he was after.. who knows..., but looking at it from a high level I think having players call each other out is better than coaches. I'm sure coaches are telling the kids to not party doesn't get fully listened to
