First positive news regarding Fields since his visit. I really hope this source is legit.

I think we all do...however if it isn't and we choose to wait for him and not take Corral we could miss on both.

If Fields does eventually sign with us I will say it was as I originally thought. Fields seems to be a smart kid. I don't think he took his commitment lightly in the first place. I don't think he decommitted without deciding to go to Florida. I think he's enjoying the visits but for reasons we don't even believe he and his family liked whatever Florida was selling.
Or I'm totally wrong. Wouldn't be the first time. Won't be the last.

I still think we have a .001% chance at landing him but I think you could be right if I'm wrong and we land him.

If he comes then it was Florida all along and Florida was the reason for the de-commitment.

I can't come up with a reason where the cons don't outweigh the pros on having Fields be a silent commit.

Only reason I can think of is since he decommited he wants to go to a few games for free and wants to shut down recruiting after announcing.

That said I don't buy either and if that's his reason it's a pretty selfish one given the impact his commitment could have on the class once made public.

It would have to be entirely his choice to do so, wouldn't make sense for this staff to because him as a commit helps your recruiting bs him taking these visits runs a high risk of him being talked into some place else. I suppose it could also be to see what other teams try to do to get him, but that would require a TON of trust with the kid and his family...

I wouldn't fault a kid for wanting to take his visits though. I just can't believe he would be a silent commit.
