I do kinda worry about having both qb's on campus. This a very minor because I'd damn sure rather have 2 5 star qb's on campus than none. But will we be able to put the full court press on either one ? Does fields popping in in corrals visit hurt our chances with corral. I hope it puts pressure on one of em to commit before the other.

Starting to feel like they are worried about losing the spot more than we're worried about losing them. Just some bizarre vibes going on

Not saying you're right, but I admit I've had that same thought. The fact he was supposed to be going to that Bama "champions dinner" or whatever it's called, and decided to come to FNL instead, kinda makes ya wonder if he's a little bit uncomfortable with Corrals being so interested in UF.

LOL

Fields will be at FSU today (Thursday July 20) and then will continue south to Gainesville tomorrow (Friday July 21).

Or at least that is what is being reported. He may end up at USC both days for all we know.
hitting up fsu then heading to Gainesville...doing exactly what he said he would do in June and that's make visits in July...perhaps one last look at all the leaders and making one last final visit to his favorite...UF

This is what I was worried about, how can you tell Fields he's our guy but then start showing interest in Corral only to have both on campus at the same time. I personally think it could be great but could also be terrible. If you really put the press on Fields while Corral is there it has to show Fields he's our guy and it would go a long way imo with him. Now in the flip side we'd be out of the running with Corral. Or if we show any interest in both it could hurt with Fields but help with Corral. I still think both are long shots but I'm stoked to get them on campus

Mac is making a hot girl jealous so she wants him more by bringing another hot girl to the party. Classic macin (pun intended) technique. High risk high reward play for sure, but it always worked out for me :naughty:

5's are notorious for thinking they are hotter than a 5. So yeah they get jealous pretty quick.

In photos Corral looks a lot more sturdier than Fields. Corral is more towards Tebow's musculature than Fields is. Corral might plow for that 1st down yardage whereas Fields may avoid hits like Chris Leak.

Still, favoring Fields - IMO Chris should be asked to go over the film of his MVP performance in that OSU NC game with young dreamer Fields? Hearing those National TV analysts rave about Chris. (No telling what Leaks' QB rating was for that "perfect" game.) Can you imagine the "excitement-transfer" for Fields watching that with the very Gator QB that performed it?

Chris Leak should be a Gator Ambassador or on support staff as paid consultant (called in when needed)? And while we're at it, has Mac considered this or asking the favor of Emmitt Smith to analyze some of his Gator runs and Cowboy runs with all its National TV analyst praise... asked Emmitt to sit down with 4* & 5* RB recruits to befriend and go over film RB tips?

This is why I lean towards having a "Gator Great" as our HC. GGs are bonded all as members (memories of joy) of an elite club. This "outside-the-box" thinking for Mac is inside the box thinking for a Gator Great. (Kerwin has enough hard experience at HC, CEO, CFB player/coach, Pro-player/coach etc. His first teacher, side by side, was Steve Spurrier! I am positive Spurrier would get more involved in the rebuilding of our program with Bell as HC. SOS would be a great help writing Kerwin (via snail mail = the best privacy protected) on the best possible choices to fill his staff. Can you imagine the offensive magnetism to recruits when we send a Gator recruitment packet containing videos of those Spurrier-Bell years, those Weurfell years, Hilliard, Anthony, etc., etc,

I know Kerwin has his armchair detractors but they should ask Spurrier for his oppinion of Bell as UF's HC. Look, we're at the point where so many are sure Mac ain't getting it done, zero UF offense and follow the leaders recruiting,. So in replacing him quick we have to take another leap of faith. Who couldn't have greater faith in Bell-Spurrier reunited?

Make that recruitment packet video include some Batesy stories to show the love & to lighten the heavy recruiting pessure all 'round. IMO this sort of stuff, all when the greats involved were young stallions of championship caliber just like the 4*-5*s they pitch to will have great impact; this inspiring pitch will connect & create the magnetism UF needs.

UF recruiting has to "play" extra-smart and use every positive resource it can. Who can have a better RB-recruit befriender than Emmitt, not even Alabama can get close. Such as this is a recruiting "gameplan" far superior than the hodge-podge Mac-n-crew has be mal-executing. God, it makes me mad not to use our resources of Gator Greats. ell, Jack Youngblood has got stellar films, both Gator & NFL to go over with youngsters. Dang, he's a professional motivational speaker for God's sake. FNL weekend should be like those GGs holding seminars for their position hopefuls.

I bet several Gator Greats grind their teeth at the subterranian level their Gators are forced to operate right now.

These are terrific ideas, Rog! Kerwin should certainly be at least our quarterbacks coach under Mac, if not our OC.

Didn't Champ offer Bell the QB coach position, but he wanted to be the offensive coordinator that went to Roper? I may have some of that wrong, but I remember Champ meeting with him about an opening on the staff when he was at JU. I guess with Bell, the main unknown would be his recruiting skills and just don't think there's anyway you could justify giving him anything above a position's coach's spot on the staff.

How is this resume dumb as rocks. How many CFB HCs have one like it plus who work well with Spurrier?

1988 / Round: 7 / Pick: 180
Career history
As player:

* Offseason and/or practice squad member only
As coach:
Career highlights and awards
That's a tough road that shows 15 years of above college coaching acceptance & CFB CEO dynamics (very much fettered at JU). UF is Bell's "dream-job". If it were the dream-job of another out there, we would not have chosen Messedchomp or Mac or whoever our risk-guess is after Mac? Do not underestimate the value of true Gator spirit at the helm and what that can build. Apparently, other coaches shy away from taking on the HC job at UF. Bell would not.

Auburn tried to make Bell their OC in the late 00's. He turned it down, because he wanted to stay in Florida. I wouldn't hire Bell as my HC, but I would has my OC. He might be a liability in recruiting, but that should be a position coaches responsibility more than an OC. He was an OC of his Canadian football league team, as well has been an HC in highschool and two lower level college programs. Also was a grad assistant under Spurrier.

I've never been against having Bell on the staff in some capacity, God knows we're all tired of seeing terrible offenses and maybe he could resurrect our offense. For some reason he's always mentioned as a candidate for our staff as far back as Urban if I remember correctly ( may be wrong on that), but he's never gets picked for some reason.
