If the NCAA comes down hard on UF it would be a joke considering what happened at Baylor, Ole Miss (as GatorJB pointed out), Miami just recently, Vandy, etc...etc.

Baylor and Vandy were not NCAA issues, but criminal issues. Ole Miss is a wait and see. Miami got off light, because of NCAA corruption in that case.

Law is my favorite poster but he is full of sh!t on this. We are not getting a bowl ban or probation we self reported the cc scam and was working with the NCAA when it went public. This is as ridiculous as his assertion that it's the fans fault that we suck because we continue to go to games.

Exactly. At the moment it seems like it is not an NCAA issue, but the NCAA likes to meddle

The three with CC fraud isn't, but the extra benefits provided by the school (even in error) could be questioned. The NCAA will/is investigating, I don't think there is anything there to penalize with a ban of any kind.

Dont see any NCAA sanctions unless coaches sanctioned it which I think is ridiculous. A couple will get charged with felonies and booted. Charges will get lowered or dropped later. Anything on coaches is spec at this point. I do seem to remember something about all these gas pump skimmers and traveling car burglary to credit card quick purchases being organized from south florida. Maybe it's something in the water down there. But hey I don't know squat except that I'm about to pour one for happy hour.

If they got away with it we don't know yet if they got caught when they reported them stolen or if they got new cards. Frankly. We don't really know squat except for what's being reported online and that there's an investigation

No way we would get more than a 1 year bowl ban and a loss of a few scholarships. Heck, penn state got theirs appealed down to a 2 year ban for 20 years of assaulting kids.

Yep. I don't think this is an NCAA issue either. All those players were suspended and never played any games once discovered.

I didn't predict this. But we certainly have exposure. The critical issue is what institutional controls we had in place. If we had controls and someone, maybe a student or employee taking the lost card and fraudulent card complaints essentially was a coconspirator, we are probably ok. If we had nothing, we could have trouble. (I'm talking about the credit card fraud related to the GatorOne cards not the three involved in using the stolen credit card number.)

Obviously, self reporting, if we did, as opposed to reporting once the news broke, will help to mitigate the potential damages to us.

Again, when you are dealing with multiple levels of hearsay with these sources, it is always dicey but so far the info has been proven true.

Or you can follow the Baghdad Bob bs coming out of the UAA/2222... and hope.

I use chrome on my computer. I just like the safari browser better on the iPhone. I've used just about every browser. Safari just seems to operate best for what I need.
To each his own. I used Safari forever on my phone and Mac. I had to switch to Chrome due to a specific work site. I switched to it on my phone because of work and things on this site weren't working correctly on Safari.

Safari is a lot slower in general.

Don't know if there's any new news but it was posted just a minute ago.
https://www.seccountry.com/florida/...s-9-suspended-florida-players-early-next-week
A state attorney told ESPN’s Mark Schlabach on Tuesday that he expects to receive details soon.

State attorney Bill Cervone said he contacted University of Florida police on Monday for an update on the case. He said UF police told him they hoped to finish their criminal investigation by the end of this week or early next week. The case would then be forwarded to Cervone’s office, which will decide whether or not to pursue criminal charges.

The next step after Cervone reviews the case would be to potentially arrest the players and formally charge them, though he doesn’t seem to expect anything out of the ordinary according to the report:

“Whatever they bring to me, we’ll look at it and evaluate it as quickly as we can,” Cervone said. “It seems to be a garden-variety credit card fraud situation that we get all year long. I don’t think there’s anything exceptional here, other than maybe the people involved.”

It should also be noted that these allegations are separate from another credit card fraud case that the Gainesville police department is investigating against Jordan Smith.

Anyone know who the 3rd player is that might be in more trouble than the others like Jordan Smith and Callaway?

Wouldnt it be funny if Cervone had a press conference where he announced he had decided not to file charges then he went over to the coaches and did high fives and some Gator Chomps ala the Rapeis conference?

I doubt we'll get any NCAA sanctions. It would simply be nice if this could get us out of Mac's fat contract.
