The 'taking a knee' tactic is applicable only when fumbling is a risk.

The issue was the tantrum Mac had on the sidelines during or immediately after.

Davis broke through clean. No tacklers on him or would be tacklers near him or having an angle to him.

Next, did Davis run through this time or not? He learned his lesson! Move forward.

Our coach chose the most aggressive and best call - to go for it on 4th down. Highest probability of getting the first down, highest probability of winning, lowest probability of a turnover or losing the game.
So this is being brought up again? Is there a single person who disagrees that going for it was the right call? Not sure why we're inventing arguments at this point.

Discipline is one of the issues we often cite on this forum. So I voted "Fall Down" because believe the players should do what the coaches tell them. Do I believe that the plan should have been to fall down, no. But the player should have followed the coach's plan.

I didn't see Coach Mason celebrating when Davis scored, he looked pretty damn dejected to me. That whole go down at the 2 yard line is a losers mentality and "I hope everything goes okay" attitude.

Score every time i don't care. Make a 1 score game a full 2 td score game and be damn glad you did. F this stupid coaching staff for acting like that. Mac has lost this fan base he should be trying to run up the score to make it look better

I hope he meet SOS in the hallway on Monday and makes some BS comment about wanting the RB to run out of bounds in that situation. Spurdogs response should be quite interesting.

Someday I hope SOS takes one for the team and just shanks Butters as he is waddling around in the men's bathroom or something.

If we were playing a much better team, taking a knee is the better move.
No, takingn knee is arguably better if you are only going to be up by 7 or 8 points with the score.

When you're going to be up by two scores you always score.

I think what he needs to realize real quick is that anytime any team in the SEC gets a chance to run the score up on us, they are going to do it. Unfortunately I believe he's is going to find that out in Jacksonville in a few weeks. He'd better be celebrating anytime he's see's a Gator RB heading into the end zone.

he's been blown out eight times already. It's not like he hasn't seen a blowout before.

Mac started this debate not most of our posters...........FIFY
It isn't an isolated incident either.

He was pissed at Franks for throwing the TD versus Tinerc when the play was supposed to go underneath.

These kids keep scoring when Butters know the right thing to do is to play for OT, you know because odds or maff or something.

Love ya 78 though I'm sorry but you simply don't understand what is being asked if this is your answer. The reason you fall down is so you don't have to kick off. It has nothing to do with running up the score. In fact if you're up by 40 you simply waltz into the endzone and rub their faces in it. There wasn't enough time on the clock for Vandy to ever touch the ball again if he goes down in bounds.

This has literally NOTHING to so with being aggressive or being a pussy or any of that emotional BS. It simply has to do with maximizing the odds of winning the game. The fact is that if he stops short of the endzone, Vandy never touches the ball again and we walk out of there as winners with one about a million to one shot of some crazy thing happening otherwise. Basically it would have to be something that has never happened before in the history of the game which is to fumble the ball while in the victory formation on the opponent's one yard line and have them score a TD. Its never happened. Kick off to them and they can return the kick or get a quick score, perhaps recover an onsides and have a chance to tie the game. It is still a long shot. But not a million to one like just taking a knee.

Now that the odds comparison is out of the way, nobody including me is mad that he scored. Just imagine if you will though that he is heading to the endzone and all of a sudden stops short like Westbrook did for the Eagles a few years back. Nobody called Westbrook a pussy, he was roundly praised for being extremely smart and unselfish. And that is exactly what people would be saying about Davis right now if he had done the same thing. As it is, it was a great play and our guy got a touchdown and we won the game so really it doesn't matter. In fact if I had to vote I'd say just score because its fun and motivating. But you are taking a chance. Hell, even if its not the game on the line, there is a chance while Vandy has the ball that one of our guys gets injured or something. But whatever, it was a fun win and I'll take it any day.

Standing by for my dislikes. Lets go.

If you weren’t my arch nemesis, you would be my favorite poster. As it is, I gave you a like, and would give 2 if I could.

It’s all I can muster right now. Baby steps.

Insanity continues.

Zamboose declares that fumbling never happens when killing the clock and "the odds" are better that a team scores on a hail mary, recovers an onsides, then scores again.

So stupid, but we need our Marines tough not smart.
